This museum is located in sunda kelapa near the harbor. It is well preserved and very interesting to visit for recreational & educational purposes. Plus there's an old watch tower where they used to watch ongoing ships.

The museum is located in Jakarta Old Town, the historic center of Jakarta. It is within a walkable distance from other cultural heritage displaying the history Batavia e.g. Jakarta History Museum, Wayang Museum, and the Sunda Kelapa harbor.

This place is good for educational visit to learn more about history and culture of Indonesia, especially during Dutch occupation in Indonesia for almost 3.5 century. A lot of historical items, but sadly they are not well preserved.

If you have enough time to spend going to this museum is an option; It looks like the museum hasn't received maintenance in years; doors, exhibitions products are full of dust, and severely lack of care; there is some scattered interesting information along the site,...More

Being and island nation maritime museum is an interesting one. Fairly well preserved. Explore the past of Indonesia, dutch history, spice trade details, old boats and miniatures. Interesting for kids too.
