About an hour and fifteen minute drive from Luisita, Tarlac is Monasterio de Tarlac, Church Of The Risen Christ - a popular tourist destination and pilgrimage site in the province of Tarlac. The monastery, which sits atop Mount Resurrection, holds a relic of the True Cross. It also features a beautiful, 30-foot white sculpture of the Risen Christ, which faces a magnificent view of the Zambales Mountain Range.
NOTE: Monasterio de Tarlac is only accessible via private vehicle, since there are no public transportation options being offered at this time.

Monasterio de Tarlac offers serene with a perfect overview view...Tall statue,, forest-like place with nature close encounter.
Upon entering the vicinity will fill your eyes with the bountiful view..
Make sure you fill up your gas wherein the place is a long rice fields road with cool view and no gas station.
While some stores offer gasoline in bottles just in case you run out of gas.
Don't forget to bring umbRella, though the place is highland you can use it.
Wear comfortable shirts and shoes for walking and visiting the premises.
You will pay Php50.00 as parking fee upon entry.
Really Monasterio de Tarlac is haven.

The place is located at San Jose Tarlac, a 30 min drive from La Maja Hotel were we stayed the night before going to Monasterio De Tarlac. We visited on Saturday morning and was able to hear mass at 10:30am. The place has ample parking space but the current chapel were the relic of the True Cross of Jesus is small and an accommodate 50 pilgrims inside and there are chairs outside the chapel which can be occupied by 100 pilgrims (estimate)
It is advisable to be early to have a parking space and seat for you during the mass.
After the mass the pilgrims are given the chance to touch the relic housed in a box.
I have noticed that vehicles can be blessed by the priest at Monasterio de Tarlac after the 10:30 am mass.
The Monasterio de Tarlac has picnic areas with Mountain view for those travelling from far places. There are no restaurant in the place but there is a small eatery where you can buy your meal for lunch or take a merienda.
The place has big statue of the Risen Christ resembling that of the statue at Brazil.
For those who would like to have a solemn weekend or spent Holy Week, Monasterio de Tarlac is a place to spend a reflective moments .

Crowded on Sundays as the people flock to the Chapel, a 50 pesos entrance fee will be collected as good as a parking fee. However parking spaces are tight during Sundays . Better to explore the place during weekdays . Come here with your stomach full, the only restaurant available is a disappointment.

First of all, I am not a devotee or a catholic member. But, I'd like to visit and somehow appreciate the solemnity of the place. It was Holy Week when we visited, so as expected many devotees and visitors were there to visit the church and the 32ft statue of Christ just like in Brazil.
The place is kind of far from the City so you must've eaten before going in there, tho there are some food stalls available but it's expensive. It has an amazing overlooking view because the place is on the higher ground. Trip must be daytime.

Absolutely worth the time drive up to see this beautiful well thought out site. Breath taking views of the surrounding mountains and towns... Monuments, statuaries and photo opportunities are everywhere... Attend a mass if you have the time... Blessings abound.... Enjoy a nice lunch at a fair price... Great ride for a biking trip too...

It has been my year ender tradition to thank God and received him in holy mass at the Monasterio de Tarlac with my daughter . The monasterio is situated on the top of the mountain that it has a great panoramic view of Tarlac. It is the best place to go if you want to be in solitude especially on a weekday. I feel blessed!
