This place is one of the best beaches in the world for sure. The nightlife is pretty awesome with hundreds of street shops, restaurants and bars. However, in the recent years, the number of tourists has increased dramatically, which is the main reason for lots...More

Like what everyone had said, the beach is filled with green floating algae on certain parts but the sea activity are usually away from the beach. The sun is scorching and remember to put some sun block lotion. Get a hotel near station 1 if...More

The white beach in Boracay is nice place to spend for a short time. Maximum 3-5 days, then find better place. Bohol, Alona beach is pretty similar to Boracay but it's much easier access. You can fly from anywhere to Bohol, take a car to...More

Read some reviews that this is a top5 beach in the world or Asia. Might have been in the past. Due to clubbing and load of tourist it lost some of its charm. If you like clubbing on a white beach this is your place....More

Wonderful sea, beautiful weather and a lot of relaxed people. The beach is amazing. A lot of bars invite you to have a drink on the beach. The sunset is unbelievable. After sunset they install a lot of spots to have dinner directly on the...More

too crowded, too polluted, too many touts and vendors, too much green algae, too many boats, basically to much of everything. Sadly a lost paradise.

One of the best beaches I have ever been. White powdery sand, crystal clear waters, blue skies and romantic sunset towards especially station one area. Strongly recommend! While beach side hotel rates are not cheap, the visiting costs to Borocay is lower than those of...More

There's a lot to do on this beach. Water sports, food, bars. Still to try all that I can possibly do during my week stay here. ´The beach bar' is like 300m or so from the Lind and is probably the best night life on...More

Why visit and support this seedy/environmental disaster of a place!!? Having travelled around the Philippines and seen some incredible places, borocay is bottom of the pile of the memorable moments! (Including some brutal bus journeys!) The nightlife is strained and seedy and the beaches are far worse than others around the Philippines! The beaches are covered in green algae caused by high nutrient waters fed by poor sanitation and sewage systems from the local hotels and bars. (My own knowledge of this sort of thing, if you don't believe me, look it up!). If you wish to spend a holiday sharing your time with seedy guys or swim in faecal rich waters than visit borocay! You never know you might come back with a disease or two if your lucky!!!

I totally agree. And they keep building. I suspected the algae was the result of poor sanitation systems. The other part of the island near the port did not have this issue. And unless you have $800/night to spend at the... More

Hi, will be visiting Phils in May and thinking of going to Boracay. Can you recommend which station is better and not too crowded and which hotel is just mid range? Thanks a lot

Station 1 is the less crowded and for sure the best one. Cannot recommend a mid range hotel, but Friday´s is a classic in that area.-
