An innovative, interactive and multi-sensorial museum, The Maritime Experiential Museum is the only museum in Singapore where visitors can experience Asia’s rich maritime history and discover Singapore’s past as a trading port. This trip back in time begins along the ancient Maritime Silk Route, which recreates the sights, sounds and scents of the bustling bazaars and where you can interact with the exhibits. See a fascinating trove of precious artefacts from the Bakau shipwreck and Temasek archaeological site that can be found at the Maritime Archaeology Gallery. View life-sized ship replicas of Asian sailing vessels from the docks at the Historic Ship Harbour, and learn more about Asia’s maritime and cultural heritage through the museum’s education programmes. This unforgettable visit ends on a nail-biting note in the 360º multimedia Typhoon Theatre where visitors ‘board’ a sailing ship and encounter a perilous storm. The most amazing voyage of discovery awaits at The Maritime Experiential Museum.

Purchased as part of a group ticket, our visit here was purely by chance. Luckily it was very interesting to walk around and read the history of trade in the region, amongst other informative facts. I particularly loved the ship.

The Maritime Experiential Museum is adjoining with S.E.A Aquarium, thus the entrance ticket allows you to visit these 2 attractions together. The main entrance leads to The Maritime Experiential Museum first, which visitors must pass through before reaching the S.E.A Aquarium. The Maritime Experiential Museum...More

This is an interesting and informative section one has to pass through to the S.E.A Aquarium. However the information is restricted to South East Asian maritime history. This would have been great if it had covered the world maritime history. A number of people were...More

Small but pleasant museum that focuses on South East Asia’s maritime trading heritage. Exhibits are well laid out and informative, unfortunately the subject matter is not explored in much detail. I found myself referring to Google for more information on the historical figures and exhibits. Sadly,...More

When we travel, we like to do things that locals do. It felt like sentosa island was more of a tourist attraction that anything else. Beautifully done, but pricey and touristy. Plenty of options for food and shopping, lots of things that you can do...More
