We went to the visitor centre first, and collected a guide to the Museum, and also a free booklet about the history of Kampong Glam. Very interesting. Our concession entry tickets cost $4 each - less than a cup of coffee! We enjoyed the stories...More

Asmall museum well worth a visit when in the area, probably not with young children. The Malay contribution to Singapore is impressive from a time well before European interests in the area.

You don't need a lot of time to see the Malay Heritage House, stop by for 45 minutes while you're visiting Arab Street. Everyone who comes to Singapore should know that the island's history doesn't begin with the British colonial period in the 19th century,...More

It is always fascinating to learn of our Singapore history and the Malay heritage. Well worth the walk around the historical Istana Kampong Glam and the beautiful garden. The current exhibition on the Bugis was all very interesting.

Our guide on the tour was absolutely brilliant was well versed on Singapore and the many cultures, she could answer any question and then take you to where the information was supported with an item from that historical period. Well worth a visit.

I went here with two Malay Singaporeans, who also learned a lot about their cultural heritage! The museum is free for Singaporeans and residents, but $8 for tourists. It’s well worth it. If you ask at the desk where you pay if there is a...More

This traditionally Malay enclave of Singapore offers
an alluring array of shops, cafes, and bars. A walk
down Haji Lane offers quirky shopping, while one block
over, Arab Street is a treasure trove of brightly
coloured fabrics, clothing, and Turkish rugs. Stop for
a leisurely coffee or cocktail and watch local kids
play traditional games along the lane. Also home to
the Malay Heritage Centre and one of Singapore’s most
