This is my second time to the Museum and I still learnt new things. Perhaps because it was a different guide. A bonus that this Museum has 2 free guided tours each day. Guides are knowledgable and interesting on top of the excellent exhibits and interactive panels. Will visit the 3rd time!

We really enjoyed our visit today. We were warmly greeted by the lovely staff and were lucky to be in time to join an excellent guided tour. We know quite a lot about the history of the Japanese invasion of Singapore but we learnt so much more today from our guide. The size of the cells at Changi. The "banana... More

As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by staff who explained the exhibit and explained timings of tours (impressive that they were giving everyone who arrived a warm greeting). We planned out visit based on the content of the exhibition - it exceeded all expectations! Information is set out with just the right amount of detail and supported by... More

Positives - newly renovated, I went on the first day it reopened. - beautiful 1930s building and interesting to see the room when the Allied Forces surrendered - elderly staff at reception were very helpful Negatives - Foreigners as they call us, have to pay for entry, even if you live in Singapore. Singaporeans have free entry. This sets the... More

Opened just before the Invasion, the japanese quickly started turning out munitions... in 1971 I had a Ford Tudor ( Two Door) which was an Escort.. by any other name... built there. It is a phenomenal building rarely visited, it is way off the beaten track

The museum is not big... More

This place was reopened on 15 Feb 2017 to mark the 75th anniversary of the fall of Singapore. Relaunched as Syonan gallery, there was much debate about the name honoring the time when Singapore was renamed as Syonan-to. It was renamed 2 days later as 'surviving the Japanese occupation: was and its legacies'. Quite a long name. The new gallery... More

Memories at Old Ford Factory is a place not to be missed for History Buffs but it is closed until 2017. This place will tell you how the Mighty British surrendered to the Ruthless Japanese, sparking a 3 years and 8 months of hell for Singapore. I am sure it will be better in 2017!
