My family and I had a great time learning about the origins of tea and the 4 varieties, the leaves, the smell and look of quality tea, how to brew and serve it in a proper way. We enjoyed the very clear explanation from Charlene and patience with my coffee-lover-not-so-much-into-tea dad. The tea house itself is a nice place for... More

We engaged Yixing Xuan Teahouse for an internal corporate event - they set up multiple tea stations and roved with tea sample trolleys throughout our offices. Their knowledge and enthusiasm was impressive, as was their professionalism and conduct throughout the day. Charlene was a particular delight to work with and was incredibly helpful throughout the process. The teas themselves were... More

Visited Yixing Xuan on friends recommendation and it was a pleasant surprise! Tea tasting is very different from the normal coffee appreciation and it's worth a try to understand how to "taste" and "feel" the tea. One of the rare shops that sells good quality tea!

We visited the tea shop as a large group, and everyone was very pleased. Weather you are new to tea or an experienced drinker you will learn something new. There are so many different types of tea with different flavours and this lesson teaches you the history, how to identify them and what they all taste like. A must do... More

Really great informative session. I did not realise tea would be that interesting. Really good value for money. We were very looked after and they really took their time explaining everything to us even though it was just the 2 of us. Thanks for the great tea appreciation!! I will definitely take my friends there as part of the Singapore... More

I went there with 2 friends. The guy there taught us everything from recognizing tea to how to drink it the chinese way. We then had our lunch served to us with free flow tea. The lunch is always 10$, very accessible and half of it is homemade and its delicious, and the tea lesson is 30$/person (if less than... More

I am a coffee and wine drinker but this workshop was still very interesting and fun. The teacher was very engaging, knowledgeable and made the workshop very interesting. I would definitely bring my family and friends over to see this workshop when they visit Singapore.

We are a group of participants from Singapore, USA and Canada. We have so much fun during the tea appreciation workshop. For me personally, I have learnt the right way to brew tea. This teahouse is a great place for gathering with your family and friends while enjoying the tea.

Charlene was our tea workshop teacher, and she was fabulous! Her knowledge of tea was excellent and she entertained us with fun facts. The traditional tea service was a beautiful way to spend a Saturday morning with friends. We would certainly recommend this quaint shop to anyone visiting Singapore! Love my new white tea and special teacup - feel healthier... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
