It is certainly colourful with stall after stall of Chinese made goods. If you want to take back home a little something that will cost you a few dollars then have a look here. For us it was a walk through experience.

This place is near to other attractions in China Town, so it is good if you visit after enjoying other activities. Here is good for shopping clothes, asessories amd souvenirs. The price was good.

Lots of stalls, shops selling everything under the sun. Toys, electronics, traditional Chinese dresses, chinaware...some usual, some strange. But the atmosphere is electric and humidity is the only thing that gets on to your. You can shop a lot, without denting your pocket much.

We made two visits to the markets, there were clothing & manchester stalls with a good range and great value for money. Stall holders were friendly but not pushy and language was no problem. After shopping we were able to relax with a meal, and watch the world go by. Another wonderful expierience

Literally arrived in Singapore from Thailand today and made a beeline for the store. Some interesting pieces but nothing special. Even without the poor exchange rate the prices are sky high. It'll be cheaper to fly to Tokyo with an empty suitcase and stock up. My children's view-😭disappointed

We visited this flea market yesterday... set up in a Shopping centre. A bit disappointed in the prices of the stuff. Much higher than we pay in Australia. I bought a few things from the one stall owned by a father and son, they seemed the most reasonable. It was better to do a bundle deal / I ended up... More

The flea market is held on a Sunday only on the gallerys of a shopping centre at the edge of Chinatown. Toys are a speciality, but all sorts of bric a brac is for sale. It is a place frequented by locals as much as tourists, making it more authentic than some of the shops in Chinatown.

Every Sunday 11am - 5pm, there will be flea market at China Square Mall (Nearest MRT station will be Telok Ayer). An old mall with little maintenance. Market located on level 1 & 2. Do not expect much from this market. They sell pre-owned music cd, records, antiques, old coins, stamps, toys, books, clothings, collector's items, etc. No food, but... More

I visited the shopping mall on Saturday during Vesak Day and was disappointed to find that it was on renovation and most of the shops were closed. I wondered why is it still open with limited shops and the flea market was non existent.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
