A little advertised exhibition focusing on one aspect of the overthrow of Singapore by Japanese forces during WW2. Because the scope is limited, it provides a very moving and intimate insight into the tragedy - at a personal as well as a political level -...More

This is the part of history I was not aware, after visiting this lovely house pf Bt Chandu, I was impressed with the heroic action of those who died bravely out of duty to defend Singapore from the Japanese invasion. Big Salute to this group...More

Bukit Chandu is hidden away from the city, right in the thick jungle although it is really close to downtown. I took a taxi there and the driver was surprised by how hidden it really was and offered to wait for me although I did...More

Walked here from the MRT up the hill so if walking is not for you then a taxi might be an option. Great museum showing he sacrifice of the Malay Regiment during the fall of Singapore. Closed Mondays and at the moment free entry.

The closest MRT station to Reflections is Pasir Panjang although it is a fifteen minute walk from there uphill which is quite testing in the hot and humid weather. I actually visited twice as my first trip was marred by a party of noisy and...More

I was visiting Reflections at Bukit Chandu as a series of self conducted Singapore's World War II Historical tours, after Changi Museum & Battlebox/ Fort Canning. The first two museums focused heavily on the British army experience, but I was still poorly informed about the...More

I stopped in here while doing the southern ridges walk. You might as well - it's free and gives you a break from the heat, plus there are toilets and a drinks vending machine. As for the information, this is a surprisingly modern museum given...More

Anyone who visits Singapore's Changi Prison should seriously visit this Centre which is dedicated to the Malay Regiment. To read and understand the enormity of their stand and in many cases sacrifice against the Japanese army in 1942 is emotional. The interpretative centre has certainly...More
