Shopping, shopping and more shopping. Many shopping areas linked together, very convenient and lots to shop too. Lots of food available so don't worry of going hungry after too much shopping. Convenient location and can take the train to other nearby shopping areas within a few stops. Singapore's transport is just so convenient and readily available!

City Hall precinct has the huge Raffles Plaza shopping centre in it, with a 3 floor Robinsons as well as stacks of bars, restaurants and casual eateries.

For mine its a much nicer area to stay than the massively overcrowded Orchard Road area.

Great hotels here, including Carlton, Swissotel Stamford, Fairmont, Raffles, Naumi, Pan Pacific amongst many others.

its a very very busy area with lots of tall buildings

City Hall Building, with its definitive Corinthian colonnade and flight of steps before it - together with the adjacent Old Supreme Court Building (with its iconic Dome), in 2015, has been converted into the National Gallery Singapore.

This review encompasses all the above sites mentioned.

Note:

The Primary Photo used by TA for "City Hall Building" is wrong. The photo shown is the 6-storied building housing The Ministry of Communications and Information at 140 Hill Steet (once the Old Hill Street Police Station). This building does not have Columns. It has colourful windows.

City Hall Building at St Andrew's Road have the massive columns and not the coloured windows.

Check on when and what activities will be staged. Events transform the venue into a carnival of light, music and colour - with road closure that allows for street dining and partying. Be it lighthearted tongue-in-cheek humor, in-your-face political satire or just plain fun - or a combination thereof, they are all there for the taking. See my photos .. taken on 2/Dec/2016.

There were ample toilet facilities, food & drinks options, seated dining areas and a marquee colony (in case of rain).

More Singapore grace and style. Well located in a very central location. Safe but take care of the oppressive heat and humidity. Some excellent church and building architecture to be observed and photographed. Heaps of food and shopping not far away. Always great people watching opportunities in Singapore. Overall, Singapore compares to Hong Kong as being exceedingly well placed in order to make life as pleasant as possible for the average tourist and their family.

City Hall is actually not city hall at all. It's a MRT station where most shopping centers are housed outside Orchard area. There's also an air conditioned walking tunnel that leads you all the way to Marina Sands. Many eateries shops as well as shopping centers. A must to visit if you are short of time.

The first thing that strikes one about this attraction is the stunning architecture. We took advantage of one of the free guided tours to gain the maximum information about this beautiful building so sensitively modernised and adapted. It retains many original features and the architectural brief is carefully explained by the excellent guide. So interesting was the tour that our one hour tour quickly became, with our permission, a two hour tour! There is so much to see it deserves this amount of time at least to fully appreciate the extent of the building. A genuinely fascinating visit!
