Affectionately known among locals as the "durian", Esplanade is one of the busiest arts centres in the world with about 3,000 performances presented yearly. Spot our prickly cladding in the middle of the central arts and cultural district, and take in the view from the Marina bay waterfront where our Outdoor Theatre is situated. Coming to Esplanade means that you're in for a complete lifestyle experience, from enjoying a night out at a show, to shopping and dining. And whether you're a first-timer, an ardent patron or fellow arts lover, you're most welcome here and we'll do our best to give you a great experience with the arts.

You can check on their website about what concert, when and where it'll be held. Not every performance will suit your taste, but hey i'am in no position in complaining since it's free. I was with my friend watching chinese orchestra in indoor auditorium. The sound system was really amazing, it's on world class level. And something to notice, you... More

If you like performing arts, this is one place to head for. It has variety of indoors and outdoors performances, occasionally workshops in each month. Some are free while others are not. You may want to check out their website before heading down.

Very nice with shops and cafes. It's not easy to get around by car. However once there it is a nice experience.

Our family attended Japanese pianist Makoto Ozone's Rhapsody in Blues concert at Esplanade. It was a joyful experience. The music theatre is in great shape closing in on 20 years. The sound is beautiful and the audience is enthusiastic. My kids lasted the entire two hours enjoying the performance. The landscape outside the theatre has been revised but I prefer... More

A very nice place with many shows and plays throughout the year. There are some nice restaurants in esplanade and if you're lucky enough, there will also be some free shows in the evenings, just outside the building.

Well, what can I say? It's iconic, cool place to be in and with so many happenings, paid and free. Gastronomical treats aplenty, interesting retail therapy opportunities to satiate before and after a show. Last Sunday, I was again treated to a dose of Esplanade happenings when I was treated to the famous Beijing People's Art Theatre play - Top... More

Whether you are here to enjoy a nice concert or performance, you can still walk around the theatre outside to get some good photos on the bay and surrounding skyscrapers.

Staying in Marina Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighbourhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.
