The fresh smell of lacquer lingers behind the incense. Beautifully restored by Chinese craftsmen. What is somewhat missing now is the old family of "priests" who performed the Duke Jupiter ritual yearly. It's now a DIY affair and some of the magic seems lost.

This is a small temple located just a short walk from Raffles Place. Closes at 5pm but doesn't seem to get too buy on weekdays. It's worth a quick stop if you happen to be lunching in the vicinity: provides a nice contrast to all the office towers in the area.

Wak Hai Cheng Bio Temple is definitely a place worth visiting, then again visitors should not expect to see a huge temple. Currently the temple is under some renovation work, and I do hope that after that it will not lose its original "touch", as we know many historical places are already "deconstructed" by the reconstruction or renovation works.
