If you go there, make sure it is clear weather. The views are amazing! If anyhow possible just walk up. It is a easy walk an you pass the beautiful red crater on the right.

We visited here on a very windy day. The chair lift was closed and it was dangerous to walk on parts of the volcano due to the strong gusts of wind

The cruise ship can arrange this. Another option is a local tour guide....Maria and Lili from Trails of Chile were wonderful (fyi we had mixed experience with the company overall)
