Located in the heart of Santiago, this pedestrian street is truly unique. It had been one of the most busiest traffic streets in Santiago but was transformed into a colorful urban art street with project titled Paseo Bandera. Opened on December 21st, 2017 and designed by Chilean artist Dasic Fernández, the entire 35,500-square-foot street mural sprawls across almost four blocks and three sections. Located next to the city’s government palace and main square, Bandera Street had been closed to traffic while the Santiago Metro was under construction. One may find some street vendors selling some local goods. Would certainly very highly recommend exploring this street to any traveler by foot when in Santiago.

I did not get to walk through all the paseo bandera, I just crossed the "tunnel" that leaves almost in front of the Palacio de La Moneda. And still there is street art, which by the way are beautiful, massssss the place is now frequented by many street residents and the locals who passed and saw us taking photos with cell phone, ALL said that there was a very dangerous area for us to be careful. So I think that area at least the piece I went to, ceased to be tourist unfortunately 😥.

A very colourful pedestrianised street, which is always a plus, in a car centric city, we particularly, like this street as it home to numerous secondhand/vintage shops, there at least 20 offering a huge range of clothing, orange blue was our fave, decked out like an upper-end boutique. Definitely the street to visit for clothing bargains.

A nice place to walk, jog, or just people-watch along this street that was converted to pedestrians only. Pretty paintings all along.

The Municipality of Santiago converted this street into a pedestrian only street in the last year and used brightly colored painting of the street and colorful furnishings to create a fun and memorable experience. You can walk the length of this street in 30 minutes and see all kinds of people and different art treatments. It's a great selfie spot and unlike anything you will see in most countries. There still aren't a lot of adjacent restaurants and other inviting adjacent businesses along its length (Paseo Ahumado, one block over, has a lot more), but hopefully this will change as people continue to visit it/
