About
For the last 19 years we´ve been building touristic experiences in nature, becoming specialists on the Maipo valley area, all year round. We have grown by the hand of the touristic development of our country, offering specialized products on the outdoor field, such as hikes and treks, mainly. We appreciate how spectacular is Maipo Valley as a destination, its ecosystem, glaciers, rivers, flora, fauna and with no doubt, its people. We work hard for giving a quality and complete service, looking forward to bring together the magnificent Andes and the outdoor life, with the people who decides to travel with AndoAndes.

I travel quite a bit and book a lot of tours/day trips online. I have to say the Cajón del Maipo and Volcán San José Hike 8K was one of my favorite day trips so far. This tour was amazing if you want a nice hike with amazing views. Our guide Francisco was great. He was on time picking us up from the hotel. He was very knowledgable and passionate about the area and culture. They provide a lunch and large water bottle for you. They also ask ahead of time if you have any food allergies which I thought was nice. I also brought my own water bottle and a few small snacks. It started out kind of chilly in the morning but then got much warmer as the hike went on. I wore layers that I could take off as I went and that worked out well for me. It was a lot dustier than I expected. That did not take away from enjoying the hike, but if you have allergies you might want to pack some meds/kleenex for that. We had a great group where everyone walked about the same pace and had beautiful weather. I know both of those things could maybe change your experience but we really lucked out and had a fun time.
(For reference my friend and I are in our 30s from the United States)

My sister, husband, and I had an amazing time on our 8K hiking tour in the Andes. Our two guides, Francisco and Andres, were awesome; so professional, kind, and passionate about the region. We learned a lot from them and they really made the experience.

An amazing hiking tour from a very professional outfit. From start to finish, this was a first class experience. We were advised the day prior that pick up would be at 6.10am and we were picked up at exactly that time. On the bus ride to the hike (an excellent very clean bus) our fantastic guide Francisco played us some different types of Chilean music which was a nice touch. He also provided lots of interesting information about the areas we were driving through.

We arrived at our starting point for the hike after just a couple of hours and set off on the first 2k segment to the top of the valley. We then proceeded to begin a loop initally for around for another 2k before stopping for 45 mins for lunch. My wife and I were brave and dipped our feet in the freezing cold Andean water which was very refreshing. We then continued round to complete the loop before descending back down the final 2k via the same route we had taken to get up. Stunning views of the mountains and volcano throughout and a very enjoyable hike.

Throughout the hike Franciso gave us plenty of time to stop and take pictures and there were plenty of spots to allow the group to get reform. He also provided plenty of information throughout the hike. We were incredibly lucky to see many Andean condors some particularly close to us.

Upon completing the hike after an hour of travel we stopped at a little cafe where we were treated to an empanada, a glass of wine and some of Francisco's just purchased goats cheese. A wonderful end to what was a fantastic day.

I can't recommend this tour enough to people. It's definitely value for money and a great day trip out of the craziness of Santiago city! Highly recommended and Francisco is a top guy!

This was a very nice tour organized well and good communication prior to the day. The 8km hike was 8km in length as advertised and a very flat walk after a brief ascent of only 100m or so. The group walked very slow so anyone of any fitness level could do this hike.

Fransisco and Andres were really great guides and also took time to educate us about the areas and entertain on the drive there.

Due to traffic in Santiago it did take a very long time to get in and out of the city making for a long day. But they did there best to get us back quicker by splitting up the drop offs which was great.

Our guides Andres and Francesco were fantastic - very informative and extremely friendly. The hike was uphill over loose rock for the first section and then it flattened out in the valley for the second section. We saw condors, horses and goats. The scenery was absolutely stunning. After the hike, we stopped for wine and appetizers and you could see one of the volcanoes in the background. A great time.

If you are visiting Santiago, and you want to get a feel for the Andes in a short amount of time, then this is a "must do" excursion. The hike was exhilarating but not too difficult. The views around every turn were spectacular. The goats and wild horses added some animation to the scenery. We even spotted a condor. Our guides were informative and efficient. My wife and I finished the long day, thrilled with the experience.

Our hike was in early March 2024 and the group consisted of 6 people. Sebastian, our guide, was well educated in geology, environmental studies and Chilean culture. The hike was beautiful - snow capped peaks, lush greenery, goats, and horses. The views were amazing and while the hike was challenging due to the rocky terrain, it was not too difficult.

Recommend long pants as the brush has prickly bushes, a hat, a light backpack to carry food, water, and your extra clothes (long sleeves, windbreaker, etc.). The terrain at this time of year was dusty, so be prepared to get a bit dirty. We did the hike in running shoes/sneaker and they were adequate.

If you want to experience the Andes and learn more about this beautiful country, we highly recommend this tour.

We had an amazing time on this tour. Our tour guide Sebastian was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the area, culture, history and geology. The hike was a little uphill in the beginning but that was the most strenuous. Some parts of the hike were rocky but Sebastian gave us hiking sticks, which I found very helpful. I wore my regular running shoes and I didn’t have an issue. The views are amazing and we were able to stop along the way to rest, drink water and take pictures. Sebastian brought a sandwich lunch for us and extra water. At the end of the hike we stop for a wonderful picnic. It was a wonderful trip. I definitely recommend it. Thanks Sebastian!!
