About
For the last 19 years we´ve been building touristic experiences in nature, becoming specialists on the Maipo valley area, all year round. We have grown by the hand of the touristic development of our country, offering specialized products on the outdoor field, such as hikes and treks, mainly. We appreciate how spectacular is Maipo Valley as a destination, its ecosystem, glaciers, rivers, flora, fauna and with no doubt, its people. We work hard for giving a quality and complete service, looking forward to bring together the magnificent Andes and the outdoor life, with the people who decides to travel with AndoAndes.

Gonzalo and Rai are awesome! They are very accommodating. There is a minimum number of people that must go on certain tours. I wanted to do the 8K hike but no one else did. They worked it out so I went with a pair doing the half hike and thermal pools. At the 4K point, our group split up and Gonzalo kept hiking with me so I could have the full hiking experience while Rai took the other two to the pools. I really appreciate how they worked it out for me. Gonzalo did an excellent job explaining the terrain and making sure I didn’t get hurt. We actually ended up doing 10K! Rai was an excellent driver and he also did great explaining Santiago. They have a great chemistry and they enjoy their work…you can tell by how committed they are. They’re also down to earth. And if you have dietary restrictions, just let them know. Rai made an amazing vegetarian sandwich for me!!! Highly recommend!

SPECTACULAR ! This was by far one of the highlights of our visit to Santiago a great day in the Andes . We were picked up at our hotel right on time by our driver and english speaking guides Francisco and Elias . A short drive to the edge of the city where we stopped at a small local restaurant for breakfast . Breakfast is not included in the price but the cost is minimal . Enroute to our hike starting point we made a short visit to a waterfall . Before beginning our hike we were provided with a sandwich, fruit and large bottle of water . Hiking polls are available for anyone who may require them .The hike itself was 3-3/12 hrs with stops to rest and for lunch . It was a hot day and the terrain was very uneven at times . I feel this was an intermediate hike and beginners may find it challenging . Appropriate footwear and clothing are definitely required , on this day a hat and plenty of sunscreen . After the hike we drove back to the restaurant where we had breakfast for refreshing beverages and snacks . By the time we were dropped off back at our hotel it was 12 hours later . It was a long day with a challenging hike and spectacular scenery but well worth it . Thank you Francisco & Elias for a great memorable day .

January 3rd I went on an AndoAndes tour and had the amazing Fernanda as my guide! She was incredibly helpful in providing historical context along the ride when we entered the different valley. Particularly, she highlighted the great feat of a inter country railroad line through the Andes between Argentina and Chile. We stopped at the Portillo Hotel, and enjoyed a great cup of coffee with an even better view of the reservoir there. Then, Fernanda was able to convince border patrol to let us cross into Argentina, and we were able to see the Aconcagua peak, along with some glaciers and the nearby mountains. To finish the day we had a classic Chilean lunch at a local restaurant where we were able to learn more from Fernanda about the current protest in Chile, and some of her life experiences growing up in Santiago! One of my best days in Chile!! Thank you Fernanda and AndoAndes!!

Thanks for your review, Fernanda is one of our best guides, she loves what she do and she always will want to take the tour to another level! That cross to Argentina is one of the things that only Fernanda can do! Thanks for beeing so interested in our culture, food and social movement that we are having! We will be waiting to see you again back in Chile to live another adventure with us!

Save yourself some stress and go elsewhere.
Was emailing the company weeks in advance about the tour yet they failed to mention that two people did not meet their minimum number and the night before the tour, they emailed to cancel. Their emails show up with the newest information at the bottom, so what looked like a later repeat of the cancellation was actually an email saying the tour was back on, which I only saw in my junk at 1am while trying to make alternative plans for the day 🙃
Actual tour was great, guide was really cool and the volcano area beautiful. (It's not a challenging hike).
But we accidentally left our waterbottles in the car, which have been with us through many adventures and we were keen to get back. That night I emailed AndoAndes to see if at any time in the next three weeks they could drop them at our centrally-located hotel during pick ups or drop offs for later tours or if we could work out a meet up point and they have not responded to any of my emails except to ask for this review. So here it is.

Hi Anthea, we´re very sorry for the situation with the waterbottles, we give the instructions to our guide and he dropped the bottles on the place that you told us, Mercure Hotel on December 14th. Unfortunatelly, and that´s our fault, the Guide Pablo didn´t send the email giving you the update of that, so what we can do now is that we´ll go to Mercure Hotel and ask for the bottles and try to send them to you !

The Cajón de Maipo is beautiful but this tour was very basic, they provide transport and a simple boxed lunch (sandwich) and the guides don’t really give much information during the hike. Also, the hike is quite challenging as the terrain is very rocky so I recommend bringing proper hiking boots and even trekking poles. Overall i felt it was quite overpriced.

I did the 8km hike to the base of the San Jose volcano, it was one of the best experiences I had in Chile! The guide Gonzalo knew a lot about the place: fauna, flora, geological formation and history. It was quite snowy when I went so the trail is a bit demanding for those who are not used to it but the views definitely make it worth it.

Gonzalo and Rai provided an amazing day! We did the Andes on Horseback tour.
Gonzalo brought us on the ride with a local “Arriero”, Orlando. Gonzalo was so knowledgable and passionate about the landscape and vegetation and was always looking for photo opportunities to capture the beautiful view. We had a lovely sandwich with snacks half way through the ride.
The ride was the perfect level for us, we felt safe but slightly challenged at times, which was great. (We have not been on a horse since childhood!)
At the end of the ride, we met Rai who had set up a picnic with a bottle of Chilean wine which was the cherry on top of a perfect day.
Would recommend these guys to anyone… we hope to do further tours with them in the future!
Thank you!!

Had a super time! A very organised, smooth operation and all went exactly to plan. Our guides were great and we all enjoyed getting to know each other a bit. I was a bit worried about the protests (as a line solo traveller) but I need not have been. Have felt very safe the whole time here and the protests for changes to pensions, health etc is a great cause. It is mostly at night and in one square. I’m so glad I came! The Andes were stunning, and there was a nice breeze for a hot day. We got to cuddle some goats and were introduced to the history of the area. The bar we stopped in and it’s owner were also really warm and welcoming and a definite highlight to the day too. Wouldn’t have changed a thing. Also enjoyed the random stop to walk through the disused tunnel of local legend... great end to the year!

Thanks for the review,We always want to make things easier for you, from the moment you want reservations until the time of the tour! As you say, although we are in moments of protests (which make a lot of sense) we have always searched and do our best to make you feel comfortable and safe when you start and finish the tour. Huevos de oro is the best place to finish the Cajón del Maipo experince! We hope to see you again!

Our tour with AndoAndes was the best thing we did while in Chile. We did a 12k hike with our own personal guide who pointed out wildlife and interesting plant life along the way. The view once we reached the top of our trail was incomparable and so was the care we received, including terrific sandwiches provided for lunch! 100% recommend. This tour was a stand-our from start to finish.

This was a great day. Everything was as advertised. The 8-km hike was a good workout but not overly strenuous. We went up to 2600 meters but did not deal with altitude issues which is nice. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable which really added to the experience. The scenery was beautiful and even though it’s out and back, the landscape looks different from each direction. The wine at the end of the tour was a nice touch. This is a great outdoor activity that is close to Santiago.
