Founded in 1856, Cousino Macul is the only winery in Chile amongst those established in the 19th century that continues in the hands of the original founding family. The company remains 100% under family control, producing limited quantities of fine wines.

The mission of Cousino Macul is to produce world-class wines that are unmistakably Chilean, carrying the distinctive character of the Maipo Valley.

We ordered the premium tour and tasting. The staff both at the store area were not hospitable, and unfortunately in some cases were outright rude. For example - when we asked the tour guide a question, he complained to us and said that he already spoke about the topic, implying that it was too big a chore for him to... More

We rolled up without a reservation on the morning of NYE and they were cool with it. We got a tour in English with several other folks and our guide did a marvelous job. We went out to the vineyard for a bit and then into the production and storage areas. After that the wine tasting began. Very enjoyable and... More

One of my favorite wineries- like the basic wines and loved the premium lota. Was awaiting this trip. Poor customer service with no responsiveness to emails; greeted by rude reception. Andreas at front fest should have formative training in customer service. The tour itself was ok- very nice old cellar; only very superior Iael explanation on the wines. The tasting... More

We had a fantastic time at Cousino Macul touring the winery and then doing a tasting! Our guide was Matthias, and we really enjoyed our time with him. He was friendly, clearly very knowledgeable about wine, and passionate about his job. Upon arriving, this winery is absolutely beautiful! Idyllic and peaceful. Loved the ambiance here; it wasn't crowded and didn't... More

We got there by metro and walking (bus didn't show up), which was very easy. We didn't make a reservation in advance, though I'd recommend to do it. We paid 10.000 CLP each for the basic tour with tasting. We really enjoyed the interesting tour and tasting of four wines afterwards. On top, as we did, you can buy some... More

My family and I visited this winery for a tour and wine tasting. The tour was incredible. You learn so much from the growing of the grapes to the entire process of what it takes to make the various wines (carmenere, cab, etc.) as well as how long you should hold the various types prior to opening/drinking them. You see... More

The winery has vines from vine stock that is over 160 years old! The vineyard is around 100 hectares and produces both reds and wines. Though I did the La Bicicleta Verde tour ( see my review) which included a cycle through the vineyard and cellar plus tastings, you can book or turn up for a tour of the cellar... More

We took the tour "La Bicicleta Verde (also called Wine&Bike)". This tour took us around the vineyards in bikes, going along with the tour we made the first wine tasting. At the end of the bike tour, we continue to the museum of the vineyard. We saw the used wine barrels (now is there just for antique). The wine aging... More

The winery is located near Santiago. You can take the metro and a taxi. There are two tours -standard and premiun. I took the preminum one. Excellent. Tiago, our guide, took us around, explained different grapes, and how they are combined to produce carmenere, merlot, sauvignon,etc.. We had a lesson with an expert in wines, how different types of food... More
