As a pilot visiting Santiago for the day, I was impressed by the extensive collection and the overall organization of the museum. Easily one of the best aviation museums I have seen so far.

I visited this museum and to my surprise the entrance fee is free !! Very friendly staff who couldn't do enough to help me. Great selection of both civil and military aircraft, you can even go inside a few of the airliners.
Certainly well worth a visit.

What a fantastic museum funded by the aviation authority of Chile.

There are a wide range of aircraft and other interesting exhibits. The staff are very friendly, with some being English speaking.

There is a metro station very close and it only takes 20 minutes from the main centre of Santiago.

I will definitely be returning.

I am a huge aviation geek and this trip was well worth the visit. Entrance was free on Sunday. The variety of planes to see was very cool. Number of DC-3 that looked in excellent condition from the outside. Staff was friendly. Looks like they have a 707 that will be refurbished. That will be cool!!

We visited the Aviation Museum not expecting much, but it was great! A really good selection of aircraft (from models to retired to replicas) and enough information for kids and adults alike (although largely in Spanish).

Well worth a visit, but there’s nowhere to eat or drink so take one with you as it can get hot outside.

We loved the selection of aircraft at the museum, they have a wide display of military and commercial aircraft used in Chile and some from other countries too. The only issue we had was that there was very little information in English (90% only in Spanish). One of the guides did walk us around a hangar explaining the planes but this was a kindness and not an organised tour. There is a kids play area and lots of space for a picnic but no food or drinks on site so take your own.

Sadly I had exactly 2 hours -and no more. I managed to take a photo of all but a couple of planes in a gated area outside the main hangar. The staff were as helpful as possible allowing for some unable to speak english. I arrive by the underground and walked around 400 metres to arrive at the opening time of 10 am. Admission was free. The aircraft were very well maintained and generally located for a good photo. A second hangar was especially opened for the dozen or so visitors that were in the main hangar. Generally the details of each aircraft was very good with registrations nearly always shown.

I spent a whole morning looking at the airplanes. There is a Blanik that was used to cross the Andes, many aircraft used by the Chilean Air Force and even a Mystere that was a swap with a museum in Israel.
