It is difficult to reach as the nearest metro stop was 3.5 km away. When asking for directions most locals did not know where we were talking about. We did get lucky and walk through a massive market along Jose Arrietta that helped pass the distance. Once there it is free even with audio guides. The way they have restored... More

Take a guided tour through the villa and learn all about the history of the torture that occurred here and realize that the Chileans have a different concept of memory than that compared to Europe, and the Holocaust. It is a peaceful park with flowers representing women victims, mosaic signs on the ground representing how victims were blindfolded and could... More

This memorial park is a great opportunity to see some of Chile's history firsthand. The audio guide is available in English and is very good. It is a little bit outside of the city but we took a taxi there and back for about 6000 pesos from las condes. Entrance to the park and the audio guides are both free.

We truly recommend a visit to Villa Grimaldi. You will be overwhelmed by the atrocities committed there. At the time of our visit - November 2015, there was no cost to enter. We did leave a donation so their work can continue. Everyone who visits Chile should pay Villa Grimaldi a visit. To get there you need to take the... More

I found this place to be the most fascinating place I visited in Santiago. It is a crucial site to visit in order to see, understand and learn about the human right violations that occurred in this site and Chile as a whole. I would recommend visiting the Museum of Human Rights first and then coming here. You might feel... More

In the same manner that people visit Auschwitz in Poland, I think it's important to visit Parque por la Paz Villa Grimaldi. This is not only for those who have a "disappeared" political prisoner in their families. Violation of human rights is something that happened to Chilean society as a whole. I have visited this place three times. It is... More

This is for Chile what Auschwitz and Dachau are for Europe. It's fairly far but pretty easy to reach, from the city center just take the red metro to Tobalaba, then change and take the blue line to Plaza Egana. In plaza Egana just take the D09 or 513 bus and ask the driver (bus takes 10/15 mins). The park... More

Visiting this park felt like an important extension of our time in Chile as it is an opportunity to be in a place that was pivotal during the dictatorship. It is a moving experience and well worth the visit. The audio guide segments are a little lengthy - I didn't listen to the end of each one - and some... More

My friends and I were fortunate to visit on a day when the park had two survivors telling their stories. The entire visit was unforgettable and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in human rights. To read more about what happened at this site, I would recommend purchasing "La Danza de los Cuervos" by Javier Rebolledo.... More

I thought that the Spanish audio tour was excellent. It might be a little long, depending on your interest level. At the risk of making myself sound stupid, I didn't notice the little numbers next to the places until 4 or 5, so look out for that. I took off a point because the Sala de la Memoria was locked....
