It's a steep, interesting drive up the hill. Lovely really. At the top you have a spectacular view of the city.

This park is 100 years old and is a super place to spend time if you wish to escape the bustle of downtown Santiago. It’s much busier at the weekend than during the week. The funicular is a fun way to the top where you have fabulous views over the whole of Santiago. There are cafes and shops at the top, serving the local drink of barley & dried peaches. It’s really popular and super sweet. You can then either take the bubble car or funicular down or walk down. It’s a lovely walk out the back of the park down the designated path. Again, great views and you pass a lovely open air swimming pool and the fabulous Japanese Gardens. You could go to the bottom in the bubble car and it’s then a simple walk to the metro passing a super modern shopping mall on the way – great to dive into for their aircon and a drink if it’s a hot day! There is also a zipwire and climbing area at the bottom of the bubble car. And if you need some exercise - power walk up!…

It was very definitely a spot for many "Kodak moments"!…

My husband and I hiked up the hill to the top on a recent January afternoon. This park is very popular with bicyclists who ride up and down so caution around some of the curves is a good idea. You do have some great views of the city as you progress uphill and the ride down on the funicular is well worth it. We spent most of the afternoon in the part which is clearly a gem in Santiago. I would recommend good walking shoes and water if you want to climb the park, although there are frequent water fountains to refill water bottles along the way.…
