As other reviewers have said, there is no English translation, but to be honest, you can work out the gist of the exhibits. I would suggest visiting this museum after visiting the Pre-Colomian museum around the corner and before visiting the Human Rights museum. Visiting...More

The museum was free but a completely pointless visit if you can’t speak Spanish as there are no translations for non Spanish speaking tourists!

This museum is at plaza del areas and an interesting start to visiting Chile. Nice benefit that there in no entry fee. The building itself is already beautiful, the exhibits are nice.

Unfortunately if you can't read Spanish you will be unable to appreciate what the exhibits are. Nice to wander around and look at the artworks however.

I found this museum to be a bit disjointed, and if you don't speak Spanish it would be even more so I imagine. If you are interested in Chilean history it is worth the visit, but if you are short on time and want an...More

As two British travellers we just wanted to learn about Chile. The museum was free (we went on a Tuesday don’t know if that makes a difference) so decided to kill an hour. I could understand a little of each display and fill in the...More

We visited this museum on a weekday, and admission was free. It's a rather samll museum, with exhibits on two floors, most from the colonial period until Pinochet. I had expected a rather large exhibit of the War of the Pacific, but surprisingly, there was...More

There's minimal for English Information options but that did not deter us from enjoying this museum. We used Google translate (offline Spanish to English live camera translation) when our own Spanish knowledge was not enough. This museum greatly helped us learn more about Chilean history....More

Small but focused on colonial period to Pinochet. Good review of events. Some personal items, including a leather sleeping bag. Only Spanish, unfortunately.

The museum is located in Plaza de Armas. It gives a good history of Chile with many different types of artifacts. We found the museum very interesting.

I wasn't able to go up to the clock tower as it is only open at certain times and from what I recall, you have to make an appointment to visit the tower, although that may be a false memory. Regardless, it's really not that... More
