About
Enjoy the excellent wines and delightful atmosphere of one of Chile’s most prestigious traditional wineries. An engaging guided tour of our facilities, including the park, colonial manor house, old winery, and the large cellar built using the “cal y canto”—limestone and eggshell—technique in the 1880s. During the tour you will taste 3 wines, the experience ends in our new shop.

Horrible place! Showed up to visit for a tasting and was told to call a number that didn’t answer. Front gate staff were extremely rude and not helpful. When I asked if they didn’t want tourists, they shrugged their shoulders and laughed. Awful business practice and I recommend no one wastes their time by coming here.

Nice place to visit, but a bit commercialised and not the personal touch we got at the smaller wine farms.

Great tour lead, knowledgeable and friendly.

This is a big estate, well looked after, but geared for large volumes and lots of people.

Has a stunning museum, one of the best I have seen in South America (separate to the wine toure and free).

Wine tasting tours is OK, wines are OK to very good. Many selections of tours and wines you get to taste, all different prices. Also different language options.

We have done a lot of wine tasting in Europe but our visit in Santa Carolina was by far one of the best wine tasting experiences we have had. We opted for the more expensive option so that we get to try their best wines. Getting to the winery was super easy by metro and very close to the centre of Santiago so makes it a fun afternoon without travelling for hours. The tour is not in the actual vineyards as these have moved further out but you get to see the old winery/house which is stunning. The wines were excellent and it was fully worth paying extra to sample the last two wines of the highest level. The tour guide explained the history of the winery and all the wines we tried very well and with passion. I would strongly advise visiting this winery for a smaller more intimate experience vs the larger name wineries (more touristic) near Santiago

Andrea gave us a very personal tour of this historic, award-winning winery a 15 minute walk from the Rodrigo de Araya metro stop. Very easy to access from our hotel near Parque Forestal. Getting off the metro, we thought we'd made a mistake as it was a very industrial area and didn't seem like a place you'd find a wine tour. However, inside the white walls of Santa Carolina, we discovered a gorgeous 'oasis' of manicured gardens, water, and the tallest palm tree I've ever seen. Our group included Americans and Brazilians and Andrea bounced easily between English and Portuguese. The tour of the cellar, grounds and the tasting were all superb and we were given limitless time for photos & questions. The tour has the feel of a friend showing you around the family winery, not of a paid tour. We were given a nice half bottle of Cabernet as a gift and I bought a 'family reserve' Cabernet for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend this tour.

I visited the early tour and was therefore alone with the guide. I got the whole story in a very professionel matter with 3 tastings on the way. Indeed a magic place with a superb selection of wines.

This tour was very complete… historical information about the “viñal”, brilliant information about wine production and an amazing wine “cata”. At the end you can buy great wine for very good price, and the tour staff is adorable and very approachable to every question. I enjoyed it a lot!

What a lovely surprise in the middle of urban, industrial Santiago! We took the metro and walked a few blocks to the winery, where we were greeted by Andrea, who then took us on a bilingual (English and Portuguese) tour of the historical winery. There were about a dozen people in our group, half Brazilians and half Americans who turned out to be Cuban and Argentine. I particularly enjoyed that the tastings occurred at different points throughout the tour: A white in the restored dining/meeting room, a red in the upstairs storage and processing room (now an events area) and another two reds in the Bordeaux and Bourgogne-style cellars. This winery has a lot of history and is one of the oldest and most traditional in Chile. It was a great place for our first winery tour, as they tend to get more modern (in every sense) as you go into the valleys. Plus we got a half-bottle of Santa Carolina Reserva Carmenere each as a thank you gift! At 24,000 pesos total, accessible by metro and with a take home wine, this was great value and a wonderful experience.

Very nice guided tour through the buildings and the old wine cellars including wine tasting of 3 excellent wines. Worthwhile the money and easily to be reached with the Metro line 5. Andrea did a great job in explaining everything in detail.

We were recommended Santa Carolina after asking around and found that getting to Casablanca valley would be kinda expensive and impractical for our trip due to time constraints. I was a little skeptical of a winery in the city but was pleasantly surprised by how tranquil the experience was.

It's easily accessible by the metro and the house, gardens, and cellars are incredible. Our guide Andrea was very knowledgeable and passionate about her wine and the history of the winery and also spoke really good English (despite doing most of the tours in Portuguese). It was just me and my girlfriend for the tour and we tried 3 wines along the tour that were fantastic.

As a disclaimer, I'm not a wine expert and this was the first winery tour I'd done. There are also obviously no vineyards to walk around. That said, it feels like a best kept secret of Santiago and it is really well maintained, a great price and you also get a complementary gift from their shop. They have several vineyards all over Chile though and you'll enjoy hearing the history of how it all grew.

Having lived 2 hours from Napa for many years, we've been to a lot of wineries. This tour has a completely different focus: it's not a tour of production facilities as much as the best class I've ever had in how to really taste, select and enjoy wine. We took the premium tour that includes higher-end wines, with the time to sit down afterwards, enjoy two wines with paired appetizers, and ask questions of our expert guide. You WILL see the beautiful cellar which has withstood major earthquakes. A couple of hours beyond expectations.
