Informative documentaries and perspective on the histories of indigenous Latin America and indigenous and oppressed persons across the globe. Moving and simply some of the most beautiful art. One must visit both the muesum and do the tour, as well as the tour in Guayasamin's home seeing the documentary of him painting is remarkable. I would visit here each time... More

The art it self was amazing and surprising. The guided tours are very good with great explanations and the guides have great English (both in Capilla del Homabre and Casa Guayasamin)

Absolutely worth the visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of the actual museum and seeing Guayasamin's work on a very pronounced scale. Having never heard of this artist before, it was a great opportunity to really get a "feel" for who he was as an artist. It's clear that he had great commercial success, even during his lifetime, but I... More

Didn't know anything about guayasamin. Worth getting a short tour with explanation. He now is one of my favorite artists. Well worth it.

I visited this as the second part of my morning at the Guayasamin property, and enjoyed this almost as much as the house itself. Definitely see this if you like art, personal stories or the history of Ecuador and all of south america!

the house and gallery were wonderful. Unfortunately we were VERY rushed through the tour of the house and were not allowed to linger to take in the details of the home and studio. The separate Chapel of Man was amazing and we could take as much time as we liked here.

This is worth the cab ride to an amazing contemporary museum with the art of one of S. America and Ecuador's best artists, Guayasamin. The art is very political showing the life of the lower class in Ecuador. You also tour the artists home where he collected a huge range of different art. This was the highlight of our visit... I have now been twice to this museum and could go a hundred more times and never be bored. The property is split in two parts: a tour inside of the beautiful post-modern house of famed Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamín and a visit to the Capilla Del Hombre (chapel of man) he built to house his collections. The museum is... More

Guayasamin was a powerful messenger, communicating art "of the people". His Chapel of Man is filled with his powerful images of people, often conveying very somber and overwhelming emotion. Both the paintings and the architectural space housing them, are awe inspiring and moving. Here was a man who held strong socialist values, yet became very wealthy. His home - part... More
