Beautiful place

A historic church, located downtown, a must in Quito. The guided visit is important in order to understand the history of the place and the architecture.

I went when there was a service, so couldn't walk around. From the back you could see just how much gold was used in the décor. Different from other churches in Quito.

If you're visiting the historic old town, you have to visit this church. It is seriously decorated and is well worth spending around an hour exploring

Very nice attraction in Old Town. We were able to get a free English guide inside the church who was very good.

This is a historic and very impressive sight. A guide will take you through the church at no cost after you pay the $4 admission. Use the guide so you don't miss the significance of this stunning church. The art and gold-leafed altar and statues...etc. is overwhelming. Set aside at least an hour for this experience.

This church on the main square is full of unusual artifacts and is well worth a visit. Elderly locals were grouped outside and is is clearly a central meeting place.

If, like myself, you are not big on visiting churches, make an exception to see this exquisite church in old Quito. It is a beautiful example of colonial rococo architecture.

During our travels, we repeatedly heard and read that La Compania was "The Most Beautiful Church in Ecuador." Once you step into the interior and catch a view of that gilded interior, you can see why. It's stunning and just glows. Many people note the cost-- $4 a person (or $2 for students, which is a great bargain) is hefty.... More
