This church is an amazing mix of architectural styles that speak to the mix of Spanish influence combined with Native history and art. There is more gold and mirrors than seems possible in one place. Amazing art graces the walls along with native tiles and a ceiling that is Moorish is style. The longer you stay the more details you... More

Lovely old church with great historical relevance for Quito. There is renovations happening in the courtyard which deter from some of your pictures. They are also some empty spots around the church where items have been removed or a local tells us 'stolen'. However still can see the beautiful craftsmanship in the baroque type carving.

Incredible history, a great mix of architectural styles, and more gold leaf decor than you have ever seen in your life. The guided tour was excellent, teaching history and its influence on the architecture of the building. Well worth the time to explore. I only wish I could have taken some pictures!

We visited this church with the assistance of a tour guide. It is an impressive structure with some nice art work inside. The central courtyard is also very pleasant, and well preserved. The tour was included as part of our larger tour schedule so we were happy to participate.

Aside from the Church, this is a place to get lunch and coffee, get handicrafts from a reputable location.

I visited this church on a busy day but it was so quiet inside that I couldn't believe the chaos outside. The walls have beautiful murals and motifs. The plaza in front is impressive

What a huge frontage. On a Sunday there were many family groups. When the entry Plaza has been restored and the protective fencing removed it, it will be a wonderful picture

This church is FULL of history and beauty. The gardens and chapel areas were amazing. So much to see and learn about here.
