I believe is quite rare to have this inside look into an artist´s home. Full of art and amazingly well designed, to look modern and at the same time local. The store is a bit pricey.

We walked to this museum from the Mariscal neighbourhood. It was a steep. 45 minute climb up a not very interesting road but we enjoyed the exercise. We were not familiar with this artist before coming to the museum, but got a crash course and...More

Do not miss out on this museum! A great story of a beautiful man and artist. Also a collector. Everything about it here, from the displays to the tour, will leave you quite satisfied.

There is too much contained in the gardens, house, workshop, and museum to mention more than the fact that I could spend a long long time wandering around the place. Fabulous art from pre columbian to cubists fills every space, but the effect is charming,...More

This extensive collection of works by Guayasamin is housed in a striking building designed by the artist's son. I was not familiar with his work but I found it expressive and emotive. I was worth the time.

It was very interesting to understand the thoughts of the artist when he did his paintings. His political consciousness and his worries for the people that most suffer in today's and more ancient societies

It's really a shame that most tourist visitors to Quito do not take the trip to this fabulous museum. Guayasamin is perhaps the most famous artist of this country. I compare him as the Picasso of Ecuador. When we visited, today, there were only four...More

it's pretty out of the way up some steep hills. get a taxi, it's a cheap fare and a difficult walk, especially if it's hot.
