This is really a tour of the artists home with some time in his gallery. We are not huge fans of this type of modern art so it was not appealing to us at all. Spending time in the bedroom of anyone is kind of odd. The views from outside the house down to the town were the best part... More

The architecture and open spaces make the artwork even more dramatic. As an artist, Guayasamin painted human suffering in its many forms. His artwork has provoking imagery of hands, teeth, and faces. We spent a solid two hours here and it was the highlight of our trip to Quito. Anyone who appreciates museums at all will be stunned by the... More

This famous artist now has his own museum and you can go see his paintings in his house. Definitely something that will grab your attention even if you are not a "museum fan"

This was the best thing we did in Quito. I didn't want to go as I thought it would be depressing. Instead it was moving. The artwork shows the hardships so many people in South America have endured. Our guide was amazing. It takes 1-2 hours to go through.

A great walk and view from there. Such a beautiful places and so interesting to see where this famous ecuadorian painter used to live. A great insight into the intimity of the painter. Huge paintings and impressive site. Greatly recommend it!

Guayasamin was a superb experience, highly recommended. The video of him painting the portrait of Paco de Lucia is remarkable.

If you have never heard of this artist, well here is the chance to do so. He was truly a special man. His work is exceptional. Not many artists who have contributed to galleries dedicated to them (Chagall is another in Nice). You can also visit his house and his collection. Look carefully you will even find an original Chagall... More
