This is one of the best museums in Quito and includes the home and an architecturally beautiful museum with many of his most well known art pieces. Free tours included in admission price.

I had never heard of Guayasamin before arriving in Quito, and even then, I only heard about it when my travel agent recommended it to me. This experience was amazing. I learnt so much about who this artist was and what his convictions were. I...More

If you have at least a little interest in culture, this museum is sort of a must in Quito. Guayasamín was the most important painter of Ecuador, and had friends as Fidel Castro, Pablo Neruda, Salvador Allende... Note that Capilla del Hombre and Guayasamín Museum...More

Very interesting to see where guayasamin lived for the last 20 years of his life, where he painted etc. Tour was a bit rushed but worth it nonetheless.

Hello, Would you be able to tell me who is available to authenticate a painting I have by Oswaldo Guayasamin? I purchased it at an estate sale and would like to get it authenticated and appraised. I do not speak Spanish. Thanks for any help or direction you may give me. Lynne

it's pretty out of the way up some steep hills. get a taxi, it's a cheap fare and a difficult walk, especially if it's hot.
