We had less time than I'd have liked inside the Basilica as we were trying to beat a storm and get the tower climb in. The stained glass inside is truly stunning! The tower climb could definitely benefit from a staff member directing traffic, as...More

We spent a little over an hour there. There are two entrances - that means two entrance fees. One to the chapel and one to the tower. However there are a lot of construction going on. But still what we could see was truly magnificent....More

Beautiful church with great views of Quito, climbed up the outside tower for even better views. A little scary as this climb is steep and on the outside of the church.

Great cathedral and worth the effort to climb it if you can. Climbing down can be tricky though. Great view of the city.

The largest church in Quito, this is worth a visit. The interior is interesting, and there are fascinating gargoyles of native animals on the outside.

Beautiful spot, though climbing up those steps is a challenge your first day at the higher altitude. :)

If you have the legs for climbing, the reward is great! On a clear day, the views of the city, and the surrounding mountains are incredible. The history and architecture are well worth the modest entrance fees.

This church is worth the many steps to climb to the very top. It has interesting architecture and views along the way. At the very top you will be rewarded with great overviews of Quito.

We had looked forward to visiting the cathedral since it is the biggest neo gothic cathedral in the Americas and it didn’t disappoint. Only $2 entry fee and plenty to see while wandering around. Well worth a visit.
