We were on an artisan gallery search in the area especially looking for retablos, which more or less are dioramas made by a family in Peru. We visited all of the artisan stores in the area and this one was by far the best. While there are a few tchotchkes for under $10, most of the things are not inexpensive.... More

They have the good stuff here and they are priced accordingly. Beautiful sweaters, hats, weavings, and jewelry. I instantly fell in love with the carefully curated selection of Central and South American goods but my wallet was crying at the prices. If I had unlimited funds, I'd buy up everything they have. I think my friends collectively dropped a $G... More

This is the sister shop of the Galeria Latina in Old Town Panama City. High quality jewelry, llama wool sweaters, some beautiful art objects. Excellent quality, and prices reflect that. Around the block from the Hotel Reina Isabel. Carries some items found in the Panama City store. The store's web site shows it as painted blue, it is not, so... More

Really gorgeous handicrafts... a wide variety of artists represented. Some of the artwork was priced higher than I have seen it in the Galapagos Islands. I was offered a discount if I paid in cash. Highly recommended.

If you want a higher quality artisan craft souvenir to take home, this is the spot. Prices here are high but competitive. Do try to knock down the price; the owner will budge. It is closed for lunch from 1-2:30 pm, so plan accordingly.

This Gallery represents art from Ecuador as well as other countries in South America, so if you want a broad overview of South American artisans, this is the place to go. We recognized some wonderful alpaca cothing and handsome retablos done by Peruvian artists.....The quality of Ecuadoran arts and crafts is quite good as well......the gallery itself is very modern... We were looking for some things for ourselves that we did not find at Otavalo market - we wanted something with a bit higher quality and we found it here. I got a beautiful alpaca sweater with a bit of a fashion flair, not a tourist touch. We got a lovely and beautifully hand made necklace for our daughter and... More

This is mostly found in Ecuador. This was a good store for more sophisticated designs in jewelry. Alpaca scarves from Peru. But if you are interested in antique, hand woven scarves, carved wooden roosters, beautiful silver jewelry - walk diagonally across the street from Latina to La Bodega. Wonderful curated collection, 2 floors with some very major pieces. I bought a... More

I visited a few galleries in Quito, but this was by far the best. In the Mariscal area, this huge gallery has clothing, ornaments, jewellery, artwork and more - all of very high quality. While expensive, there are also cheaper things to purchase. Or just go to appreciate the lovely work there. I highly recommend a visit here!

This gallery was so captivating we had to visit it twice. Andean art of all kinds along with offerings from other regions of Ecuador spread over 2 floors in room after room - and all captivating.
