First, we’ll go to the "Inti-Nan" In-Situ Museum (at about 2400 meters above sea level, about 7800 feet), where you can see replicas of the Ecuadorian Highlands and Amazon and, of course, to learn about the Quitu-Cara culture, their comprehension, long before the Geodesic Mission, on the stars, and, therefore, the empowerment of the term "Center of the World"; this visit takes about 45 minutes (entrance not included).

Will go back again and again. Simply charming. The buildings and churches around it. Need more time to explore or more days!

We started off at some churches, went up to see the winged Virgin of Quito, back to see the Presidential Palace, taken in to see an old house converted into a beautiful hotel, another church where some celebrations were taking place with bands and brightly coloured dancers before being whisked back to the Hilton Colon, phew.

I went on a private tour with a local guide and saw the Spanish and other influences on the architecture, but two important issues...lack of oxygen - 8,000 ft above sea level - catch your breath that has just been taken by the breath-taking sights. Just so busy, like most cities. Lovely people!

I chose to stay in Old Town. I walked in and out of all the streets. It was fascinating to see the tiny stores that all the locals used such as the shoe repair, the party store. There are fantastic churches and museums, but it was the day to day life that was most interesting.

Go on a Saturday night! Music everywhere, street performers, packed with people for an authentic Ecuadorian night out. Try the canelazo and eat some typical food... the huge empananadas. Mm!

This is a visit any tourist should not miss. I love colonial Quito by night because it is quieter and the churches and monuments look beautiful under the light. It is always a little chilly so you should take a coat to feel warm

we were with a gate 1 tour and our guide, Alfredo was very knowledgeable. It was very clean and we felt very safe. The buildings were amazing as was the surronding scenery.
