Visiting this place is a charming experience for national and foreign tourists. The multiple varieties of flowers, colors and aromas, including exquisite orchids, create a unique floral paradise.
Trying the pitimas water that they sell in this place is another experience since it has a particular flavor and I personally liked it.

This flower market is worth a glance if you're walking in that direction. Many beautiful flower arrangements for sale at a very low price.

Great spot to know about the culture and take great pictures! The nuns convent, where they make wine is behind it and the church next to it has a very colonial style, worth going inside and checking it out.

Lots of variety in cut and potted plants. Bargaining is fun and you will end up taking home a bunch of beautiful flowers.

The market is well known to locals. Located between the cathedral and the cloister convent, it is opened every day. Locals take it for granted, but you can buy any flowers freshly cut for 1/10 the price of the US. You also can buy potted plants and few small bushes and trees from $1. The wonderfully fragrant magarites, fresh roses that will not wilt for a week, abundance of oysters and even a few tropicals to mix. Across the street you can buy freshly ground coffee at two shops, and heading south is the artesenal market. Do not miss, even if for a few photos or to smell the margarites. Light up a candle and ask for blessings at the convent, or say a prayer in the beautiful small church in the same court yard.

We loved wandering through Cuenca and discovering the Plaza de las Flores. It is amazing to see the variety and the colours and smells in the morning.

You'll pass this area anyway if you are visiting any of the main tourist attractions so you might as well go.

The range of flowers is small but well priced and this is the only Nat Geo recommended flower market in South America so there's certainly nowhere like it nearby.

Try the local cure-all for 50 cents. An interesting taste but something you can only get here. Sold out of a window in the square.

This is a very fragrant flower market. A lot of the world's roses are grown in Ecuador, so there were many rose stalls. Fun to walk through. Can see a lot of indigenous people in their traditional clothing.

If you want flowers for your home, either cut or live, this is the place in Cuenca to find them. Plenty of variety at great prices.

This market is in the plaza of a local church, and just a block from the Parque Calderon (the literal center of town). It is pretty common to walk past this flower market and find some unexpected celebration going on, either at the church or along the street leading the Calderon.

If you are visitor, be sure to keep your camera ready, as you never know what you will find on any given day.

Small Flower Market situated just off the Parque Calderon, it was a Sunday when we visited and there were only 6 or so stalls, but to be honest I don't think they could have accomodated many more anyway.

The flowers were lovely but nothing different to what you would see anywhere else. OK if you are in the vicinity but not worth making a detour for.
