This is one of the best things we've experienced in South America. We did the 3 day/ 2 night trek with Oasis Palmeras. Our tour guide, Carlos was very open and friendly and to top it off we had the best 8 person group ever! The hike itself is not difficult but it's not easy either. The first 2 days... More

Good hiking site, rocky terrain with average up and downhills, you can do it yourself without guide as it can get crowded. there are small shops on the way so spare yourself food and water weight. accommodation in the Oasis is as cheap as 15 S a night in a lodge, so a tent and sleeping bags are not necessary.

One of the hardest trek i did in my life... was really beautiful landscape but its a long way down. My knee were very sore when we got to the bottom (3hres downhill). We spent a night at the oasis . Was a nice little place. Expect to pay a lot for little water was expensive too. Dinner was nice.... More

Colca canyon is a beautifull arrea which the full-day tour doesn't do any justice. You get picked up really early (3 a.m.) and spend the day mainly driving in the van.

I totally recommend going to see the Condors in Colca Canyon. Also the Lamas and the many walks in the area.. Do remember to bring a pocket of Soles though for the folks with their lamas.

We checked out several tour operators and offers. I reccomend to do a 3d/2n tour and if you have enough time go to cabanaconde the day before you start the trek. Otherwise you start the day between 1am and 3am and after a 6 hours ride you will walk another 6 hours. The drive to the caynon is long and... More

Took an overnight hike into the canyon and stayed at a "local" village. Great experience and would recommend to anyone.

We did a trek with Edgar from Peru Andes. He did an amazing job leading this trek and taking care of everyone involved. Please be sure you are in good shape, one member of our group had troubles finishing this trek. Edgar patiently setup an easier route home so we could meet up with the group after the trek. Also... Very nice excursion to the impressive Colca canyon, also known for Condor sightings. That said, it depends on the season as from Oct to March, the Condor migrates!!!!. Some who had late birth and are keeping an eye on their eggs can still be seen but you will need luck and patience. We did not see any and after 1... More

My Wife and Mom said this was the hardest trek they had ever done, but daftly prepared us for the Inka trail. Amazingly steep decline the first day, and incline on the second. 10 miles, and then 2.5, but about 4,200 feet of elevation change in an incredibly short period of time; it reminds of going into or out of...
