Whatever you do in Arequipa you will definitely pass thru the main square and take some pictures. It has everything close to it.

Just come here and get one of the benches and soak in Arequipa. Great place for people watching. Surrounded by churches, shops, money exchangers, travel agents, you can easily spend a few hours here.

Lovely place night and day entry to the cathedral is just 5 soles. There's hot cocoa for sale in the evening as well. The photo touts are a bit annoying though!

This plaza has a great vibe and has a unique backdrop with el Misti volcano towering behind the cathedral. The enormous palm trees and arched walkways provide shade from the midday sun. The square is lit up beautifully at night.
