Very clean and nice central plaza. Not too large like Cusco's, but easier to access than Puno's. There are not a lot of shops on the plaza itself and our tour company told us to avoid the restaurants there. The huge city cathedral really dwarfs...More

We already went several times there, during the day or at night. But I have to say, that at night the place is even more impressive. There are many things you can do just around the place. Just walk or sit somewhere and view people...More

Beautiful square surrounded with colonial buildings and beautiful church. Great place for photos. Lots of people there on a Friday afternoon. Lots of great shops and restaurants in the area. Watch out for the pigeons!

The square is the center of the city and full of activity at all hours. The days we were there on Saturday I think they had a free concert in front of the Cathedral. The lighting at night is fantastic and the feel is definitely...More

Never seen a plaza de armas like this one. The cathedral is beautiful. Very impressive. Try taking a picture with the volcanoes on the background.

Buy the local ice cream with cinnamon, feed the pigeons and watch people. It's one of the nicest Plazas I've seen.

One of the nicest plazas I have seen in Peru on this trip. Great colonial architecture and the mountains and Mysti in the background add a nice touch to the experience. The pigeons were a little too "domesticated" from my perspective:-)

This was one of our favourite places to people watch and just relax! For the 4 1/2 months Nov 2015 to Apr 2016 we lived in Arequipa, we often came here, probably almost every day when we weren't travelling around Peru.
