The only way to see most of the cathedral is through the museum a day guide. You pay entry separate to the guide, whom you pay at the end. Great artifacts and religious items from their collection, most of which are no longer in use....More

This building is fantastic both inside and out. You must have a guided tour (no wandering around on your own) which can be a little annoying as it comes with additional cost, but the views and decor are well worth it. The pipe organ is...More

As the only Cathedral in Peru, it is worth visiting. The guide gives a good overview of the history of this Basilica. Very good views from the top over looking the Plaza de Armes.

The Cathedral is simply stunning, particularly at night when its towers are brightly lit. Situated right on the main plaza, you can't mist the Cathedral. Note; no bare legs or shorts, tank tops, etc allowed inside and they are very strict with the dress code.

The Arequipa Cathedral is very European in design, I never get sick of looking at them. The exterior is beautiful with two towers, a few arches and many columns. The interior is fantastic, painted yellow & white, I guess it's a Spanish influence. The museum...More

One or two items caught my interest regarding the fire in the 1800's. Would be nice ifstaff were and not would-be bictators.

Amazing architecture and a cool history regarding the planning and construction of the building by the Spanish.

The Basilica had a large collection of church items which were beautifully displayed and maintained. I particularly liked the embroidery on the robes. However the biggest thrill was being able to walk on the roof of the basilica and appreciate its construction. I have seen...More
