The area of the ruins was more manageable than some we visited. I never tire of admiring the terracing and stonework of the Inca

We stopped here on the way out of Cusco and we're glad we did. This could also make a good short 1/2 day trip from town. The terracing is cool but you can see bigger terraces in many other locations. What Tipton does have is...More

This was not on our original itinerary but due to illness and duplication this was offered as an alternative. We are so glad out was. The ruins are of the Water Temple. Our guide was very informative about this site and we were clearly able...More

Tipon really shows you how the Incans were able to move significant amounts of water in order to farm the land. While not on the standard list of Incan ruins (i.e., Machu Picchu, etc) to visit, the two hour visit was one of the highlights...More

This place is way up in the hills outside of Cusco. It is in my opinion one of the prettiest sights of an old Inka ruin set in an amazing mountain Valley. The walk is fairly easy with an additional path to a higher ruin...More

Tipton was quite beautiful and just a sight to see for sure! It was like stairs but made out of grass and nature! Just beautiful is all I can really say about this place and well worth a visit!

It was our last day and we'd seen so much - but a few of us thought this just might have been our favorite location! A waterworks well before it's time - a lovely site and really interesting site where water was managed for crops...More

I can only review what can be seen from the parking lot since the guards would not let us in. The guide books say it is open until 5:30 but the guards won't let anyone in after 4:30 pm. They can't leave until the last...More

Tipon is an Incan agricultural site with an ingenious irrigation system. It's a pleasant and interesting place to spend an hour or two, walking around and through the various levels. And there were fewer tourists here than in other sites.

I don't know. Not much in tipon. The ruins are overrated. on the way back from Machu Picchu, when the train ends in oyantambo, ask your taxi to stop at the maras salt flats.

We booked a taxi from our hotel, and he waited for us. It was 99 soles for the day, and he took us to another site as well. Super easy and a great way to get there.

In Cusco there are buses running from the street "Calle San Augustin". Close to the Qorikancha. This takes you right out to Tipon. You will have to wait for a bus with Tipon on it's windscreen. From memory you pay around 2... More
