About
Andean Magic Art Jewelry is a Cusco-based company that makes natural Andean ancestral alchemy jewelry – encompassing the healing power of metals, including 950 silver and 18k gold. Founded by a Shaman (Andean healer), the family-owned company offers free workshop tours (including transportation) for visitors to learn how its jewelry is made, see its artisans at work and browse its onsite store (with prices starting at 81 soles/$30 U.S.). Since its start in 1974, the award-winning company has hired people from rural areas, who are often very poor, and given them an eight-year apprenticeship to become skilled artisans. When you buy quality jewelry here, you support this ancestral art and a sustainable livelihood for local Peruvians. Main workshop and store are at Parque España E-3 Ucchullo Grande.

Got an engagement ring resized, and did a great job doing so. Not too costly and the fix is barely noticeable

This shop was recommended in a guidebook we were using, so we went along. It was an exercise in perseverance to find the place - no signs, and even people in shops very nearby had no idea. When we finally located it, it was shut, in the middle of the day. I returned a few days later and it was open. Two women were working and barely broke their conversation with each other as I stood waiting to make an inquiry about a bracelet. I was the only customer in the shop. It was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t make any effort to return. That said, all of our trying to find this place led us to find several other stores with excellent silver of very good quality.

After spending quite a few hours looking for this place, we eventually found it (no name above the door), went inside and looked at the small jewellery display and asked if they could make something for me. I was abruptly told no, i explained and showed reviews translated into spanish as to hiw friendly and helpful they were, again told "no, you go someone else" there was a small selling area upstairs and as we tried to go up the woman stood infront of me and told me again "no, you go someone else". I have since found a small jeweller who makes everything by hand up a side street from san pedro church who is making me what i want by hand for a 3rd of this place. I wont ever be going in that store and would advise people avoid it at all cost, as most of the jewellery can be found elsewhere for less.

Read previous reviews on trip advisor. Not disappointed when we found the factory. No workers in workroom as all watching Peru in World Cup (they lost). Young lady opened up showroom and was very helpful, found exactly what I wanted, man's bracelet with Nasca Lines. Wife took a little longer to choose, picking up our purchases in a couple of days as they needed slight alterations. Nothing was too much trouble to accomodate our requests.

Our guide took us here as part of a day tour of Cusco.
We had a demonstration of the manufacturing process first of all - silver and semi precious stones. I learnt something about silver here - why it often goes black and why theirs doesn't go black (depends what alloy it's mixed with.
They have an extensive showroom, and the product is exquisite but too rich for my blood (I was travelling alone and couldn't commit to those prices without my wife seeing it).
Their states of Incan figures and llamas were wonderful.

This little silver factory in the heart of Cusco is the perfect spot. If you are looking for quality 950 silver, made right on the spot, buying from a reputable company and respected store in the community--look no further. Perfect. Beautiful pieces. Big and small. Will negotiate somewhat. A great stop.

A visit to Cusco is an overwhelming experience for jewelry shopping. There are countless stores and people shoving portable jewelry boards in your face constantly. As much of the Pachamama symbolism is similar to my own belief system, Cusco was a boon.
Luckily, I did a little research since I was looking for a jewelry cooperative or other responsible business. I am so glad I came across this place. They train and hire single mothers, allowing them to work from home with the option to work half days so they can care for their children.
Our first night in town we strolled around the Plaza de Armas and ducked into many of the shops. I loved tons of the jewelry, but the prices they quoted were wildly high. So the next day, it was a huge relief to find fair prices at this store for guaranteed 950 silver.
I bought two spiral rings, one plain silver and one with a rainbow inlay and a pendant for a friend. I wanted a single size ring, not a re-sizable one. In just one day they made a custom sized ring for me for only a minor extra charge. The store is owned by a shaman, so they gave us a thorough packet explaining the meaning of the symbols and colors.
A day later we took a tour of the Sacred Valley and visited a jewelry shop in Pisaq. Their prices were slightly lower, but the quality couldn't compare.
When we come back next year, I hope to have a custom piece made at Andean Magic Art Jewelry for my wedding band.
They have a store right off the Plaza de Armas, but if you want to see more pieces ask them to take you to the "fabrica" workshop.

Took the optional trip to Andean Magic Art Jewelry during a visit to Cusco. The store was recommended by our guide, Alvaro. Demonstrated the manufacturing process (whether only for show or not, I cannot say). I purchased a reversable pendant with many different colored stones set in silver, to hang on a necklace I already had. I love it and wear it constantly. They did not have one made in the color I wanted, so made it up and delivered it to the hotel. Luckily I had a receipt, because they wanted the full payment, not the remainder after the deposit I had made. Prices are high but the quality surpassed anything else I saw. A great reminder of a special trip.

I am thankful our travel guide in Cusco arranged for a visit to your store. He stressed the confidence he had in your business. My daughter and I bought some very pretty pieces. Staff were extremely helpful and the jewelry is exquisite! These pieces of jewelry are designed by an "Artist" . You can buy jewelry here that is an original design and also affordable.Be sure on your trip to Cusco Peru, visit this store, you'll be happy you did. Rachel H
