This is definitely the one place where you can go and just chill away from the city center. The cute little benches were perfect for us to go sit on and just take in the locals wondering around. Great place to go people watch for a few hours and just get away from the buzzing streets of Cusco!

One of the only peaceful, quiet spots in central Cusco. It's home to the museum of pre-Columbian art (a must if you only have time to do one or two things) and to several Relais and no doubt very expensive boutique hotels. But it's great to be in central Cusco where you are not besieged by hooting cars and clouds of untreated exhaust fumes.

a small square ideal for a rest after a walk through the historic center.
We loved visiting this little place that is far from everything.

It is a picturesque plaza walking distance from Plaza de Armas, surrounded with ancient buildings and a church. Worth seeing it, including the surrounding streets that makes for a relaxing promenade to enjoy the calm atmosphere of Cusco.

This is a small plaza with much to offer. There is a cathedral, museum, restaurant, and shops. This was the halfway point from our lodging to the Plaza de Armas. It was always a nice place to sit and relax. We also but some nice things there without spending much money.

I stumbled upon this cute square on my way down from San Blas to the Main Plaza. Very nice, clean and serene. There is a museum, a hotel and a small church fronting it. Good place to relax but that is it. I would not go out of my way to find it. Nice but nothing special.

A small plaza across from one church and two exquisite hotels, the Plaza doesn't have much to offer except a few stores and entry to MAP. Not a destination in its own right.

There are 2 great hotels where you can stop and have a drink. The architecture is worth going inside. Also the Museo del Arte Precolumbino is worth a visti.

A step away is the special Monestario Hotel one of the best in South America. at one end is a museum containing some of the artifacts from "the Largo Museum in Lima so if you missed it in Lima you can see a teeny bit here. On another side is the Fallen Angel Restaurant and Inn that words cannot describe the "art". Funky, Fun Bohemian for sure. On my first trip to Cuzco the was a young watercolor artist in the square that was quite talented; he introduced himself as George Washington and his young wife as Martha. Now! you have to love that! The day we left he presented me with a painting of the Inka steps to San Blas as a gift.

Inspite of being the center of Cusco, you may not find more quaint and peaceful corner than this one. I visited the plaza while taking a trip to the museum and definitely was surprised to see the peaceful ambiance of the square and beautiful view all around. It is lined by the Incan stonewalls and immersed in history
