Mundo Alpaca is a shop but also a museum that was very educational and showed the whole process of turning the alpaca wool into yarn. It was really cool and interesting to see and learn this.

My husband and I came to Mundo Alpaca to find some yarn for our family members that are avid knitters. We had been asked to buy a lot of wool (about 2 big bags full 😅) that were in a variety of colors.

Daniela was incredibly kind, patient, and service-minded helping us find all of the different balls of yarn that we were looking for in the right colors.

I can certainly recommend Mundo Alpaca for anyone looking for Alpaca goods from yarn to clothing.

I spoke with Natalie and she was very helpful. First she took me around the little museum they have. Then suggested me something for shopping. There was a wonderful promotion and I took advantage of it, cause the products are unbelievably precious!

Realizing the many beautiful colors alpaca’s fibers can be painted with natural pigments opens up the inspiration to anyone interested in textiles.
Visiting the Mundo Alpaca in Miraflores in Lima Perú Is a pleasant learning experience because the dedicated women that with a smile are willing to show you and teach you all kinds of information about the llamas and vicuñas.
I got to learn about the animals, the diferentes etnias who make different textile techniques and certainly left wishing to own any of these amazing pieces that suit better anyone that lives in a chilling weather rather than the tropical Yucatán Peninsula… however the nice sweet inspiration I got learning about the beautiful textiles I saw is to treasure.
Special mention for the ladies who work there and host you kindly and make your visit special

A good clear explanation of alpaca’s how they are sheared and how their hair is used to make clothes. It was a video and hands on experience.

Most textiles for sale in Lima are machine made with synthetic dyes and / or fibers. If this is what you want, great. If you are interested in handmade traditionally dyed alpaca, this shop has what you seek (and nice items that are machine made, modern dyes and alpaca blends).

They have a very nice audio visual exhibit on alpaca and the process of creating handcrafted textiles. The educational tour is worthwhile even if you do not plan to purchase anything.

This is a wonderful small museum with a really cool way to tell the story of the alpaca. Karin was an awesome guide and the way she told the story brought it to life through the exhibits. It's a must-do if you're in Lima.

Excellent experience! Very interesting information and data that nourish knowledge. The alpaca is a sacred symbol and not commercial as I thought before going to the Museum. In addition to a whole group of very attentive workers prepared to help (especially Manuel). The pieces you see on the shelves are unique and very precious. It's worth it…
