My family including my 9 year old daughter and 12 year old son just completed this trek and loved it. We took the Breddel bus from Cusco direction Abancay (15s sols each). We told the driver we were going to Cachora and he stopped us...More

Now is the time to do this trek. Machu Picchu, as beautiful as it is, it has become crowded and overrun with tourists. Choquequirao is beautiful and unspoiled, this is largely because it is ONLY accesible by trekking in...large portions of the trail are very...More

We did Choquequirao trek in November 2015 independently, without any guide or porter, the trek isn't difficult, the trail is easy to follow. We did it in 6 days, spent 3 days/2 nights at the ruins and really enjoyed it! Unspoilt place, beautiful scenery, no...More

My wife and I did the 8 day 7 night trek with Bioandean. Choquequirao is an amazing place with ruins similar (though not as large or excavated) to Machu Picchu with one main difference: there's no one there! We had the ruins entirely to ourselves!...More

I would recommend this hike to anyone of reasonable fitness who is looking for an Inca Trail alternative. Amazing views and interesting ruins made this a highlight of our trip without the crowds. We started walking at around 11am, had lunch at Chiquisca and then...More

We did a 4 day private trek to and from Choquequirao with Colibri Travel, and it was awesome. The sense of solitude was fabulous. We were slightly off season and only saw 10 other people on the whole trip. It was also a great sense...More

Hi. We went with Bioandean expeditions. The guides, food & organisation was excellent, bearing in mind that you're not going for the 5star accomodations. They were a bit highly priced but it was an important part of the trip... More

Hi, By guided, do you mean you hired mules and guide but planned your meals, tents, etc. or you booked a full tour with everything included? For the former, we payed $50 per day for the guide and $50 per mule.
