Excellent hike at the edge of town. Very accesible from any place near the Plaza de Armas. Spectacular views if other local ruins and surrounding mountains.

Wow, this historic site has it all! Terraces, Sun Gate, active waterfalls, within the many levels and sections of ancient remains/ruins - many rock/stone pieces from construction and destruction eras abound. Many people the day of visit allowed interaction with llamas and the faces around...More

This was great to see after Machu Picchu. Having a guide is key to understanding what you are looking at. Great views and a nice place to walk around the ruins. The small artisanal market is nice outside the gate as well.. This park is...More

I would highly recommend stopping to explore these ruins before getting on the train to Machu Picchu. They have such great history and beautiful views.

Maccu Picchu gets all the attention, but this spot is quite spectacular. The main feature is a wonderful Inka terrace that you can walk up, but it is modestly hard walk with uneven stones. A walking stick will be helpful here. There's a killer view...More
