I spent several hours walking around the Prado. It is a perfectly pleasant park, if you're looking for something to do in Montevideo. But otherwise it did not seem to me worth a trip.

On Easter Sunday, we took in the Criollo Gauchos rodeo at the fairgrounds in El Prado. Wow! Brave cowboys riding wild bucking bronco horses! A great time watching and taking photos!

As perhaps the premier park in Montevideo, El Prado is dingy and dirty. The city should spend more money on maintenance to make this an enjoyable location. Skip El Prado and spend your leisure time on the Rambla (beaches).
