Surprising interlude

We visited the centre as part of our holiday package and we were pleasantly surprised with how wonderfully we were looked after by the friendly staff. Originally not sure if we would even use this voucher. We are so happy we did with an 8 hour wait for our flight. THE REJUNVENATION CENTRE was a God send. The cafe food was delicious and cheaper then our island resort prices, our 10 year old son watched a movie while my husband and i had a very relaxing massage. Freshened up with a shower, and purchased some unique chocolates made with organic sea grapes which support fijian communities. This experience made our transition from island to airport feel seemless,stress free and true to it's name REJUVENATED. Would definatey book again.

Don’t book this. You can’t actually access it from the in transit area and they will book you even if there is not enough time without telling you you have to go through all customs etc and leave the airport completely. They would not reply to my emails and now I can’t get a refund because of Trip Advosors cancellation policy even though nobody ever showed up for the “included transfer” Book at the actual airport lounge that this place is pretending to be when you book

Too hot to relax.

Paid to spend the day before our late flight. It was very warm in the facility and not many comfortable areas to sit.

Friendly staff but would not recommend

The staff were very nice and friendly however the facilities were poor.
We had sent through our arrival time to Essence of Fiji, however had to wait 70 minutes at the airport for pick up.
We had lunch at the café which took about 25 minutes to get to us after we ordered, despite being the only ones there.
Toilet and shower facilities were dirty and none of the doors were functional in the female bathroom.

HI Jacinta. good to hear the staff were friendly. We are happy to say the issue with the bathroom doors is all repaired. And we are now adding an additional shuttle to our fleet to avoid any delays in picks ups. Hope to see you in Fiji again. vinaka the essence team.

Only Worthwhile if you are in Transit

I purchases a Fusion holiday and included was "2 massages including transfers to/from Radisson Hotel. Pick up times either 11am or 3pm." On trying to book the first massage I was told I would need to pay for my own way back from the Essence $30 JF. I explained firmly that the voucher included pick up / drop off from the Radisson as clearly printed (transfers to/from hotel) and presented. They reluctantly agreed only to be asked again upon arrival to have both massages together to save me coming back and them paying a further driver fee. This did not help me relax for my massage, which was average as it turns out.
- I have never been to a massage where they leave the door open while you undress.

I called back the next day to confirm the pick up time of my pre booked massage -again being told I needed to now pay for BOTH trip back and to the Essence Centre! I am travelling with my 2 children and although paid for 2 massages and 2 transfers cannot access them because I did not bring a second adult for the massage nor did not take 2 massages back to back. I forfeited the 2nd massage in disgust at their managers decision. I understand helping local businesses, but apparently this one is owned by an Australian and there was no Fiji Time to be had here! It was all business. I even offered to be dropped off at after the second massage in nearby Nadi and catch the local bus back as I wanted to see the town anyway and was trying to compromise as possibly they had been put out by the Travel Company or vice versa. Either way It was actually not my issue to sort out. When something is clearly printed it is hard to argue- but in this case they would not budge.. so was't prepared to waste anymore of my holiday arguing.

Basically, don't bother with the 20 plus minute drive out to the back streets of Nadi from Denaru Island unless you really are stuck at the airport due to a late plane and have nothing better to do. Not impressed.

Our apologies on our staff not permitting the return shuttle. Our policy is one trip per voucher , the fact you were redeeming your voucher over two days obviously confused the staff with them unfortunately not resolving the change that you required. We have addressed this with our team to ensure they understand how to facilitate such changes. Merry Xmas and hope to see you back in Fiji.

The travel agent at the airport suggested this place upon our arrival as a place to be able to nap and relax on our long layover. It was awful! The bathrooms were disgusting! They seemed shocked that we planned to relax in the cinema room which we were told had bean bags you could take a nap in. They were having some Beauty product sales pitch in that room during the time we were there. The WiFi was super slow and the food in the cafe was mediocre. We felt very stuck once we got there and would have rather paid for a day room in a hotel.

The bathrooms have now been upgraded, we also now have more than 3 bean bags, these cannot be purchased in Fiji and we had to replace our split ones. And unfortunately wifi in Fiji is not consistent and at times Fiji networks are very slow. Even our networks are Fiji Time !! thanks and have a Merry Xmas from the Essence Team.

Great way to spend time before flight

Nice and friend people. Pick up from Denarau resort and drop of Nadi airport with no extra charge. We spent 5 hours there and had massage, lunch, very relaxing. Will do it again when next we go to Nadi.

Prior to going to airport
No no no it was awful. Half finished building. Toilets were dirty. Movie room consisted of a few bean bags on the floor - they were dirty. The massage was odd to say the very least. I would never go back and i would definitely not recommend.

Very weird experience

Well, this place is very, very strange. It feels like someone wanted to create a high end spa experience and then got bored half way through and abandoned the project. We were greeted by a very lacklustre member of staff who gave off an air of irritation. She would not believe that we had already paid at the airport, so we decided to have some lunch at the cafe while she tried (not very hard) to sort it out.

The cafe is BAD. Really bad. It has a tv on the wall playing a loop of amazing, delicious looking flat white coffees being poured. My mouth was watering after a week without coffee. After 20 minutes, no sign of coffee, so I went and asked again (cafe was EMPTY) and finally a cup of weak watery slop was placed in front of me. The food took aaaaaaages and then was inedible. Totally inedible. Cold chips that had a weird cardboard texture. A lasagne slice that looked like it had been deep fried and then microwaved, and an anaemic and under filled quesadilla. I have no idea why it all took so long, as there were 3 staff and we were the only customers. Do NOT go to the cafe.

There are a range of listed amenities at reception, but most of them do not exist. There is no kids club, no yoga, no physio, no roof top terrace (it is derelict). The top 2 floors are abandoned, stifling hot and have bits of plaster falling off the ceilings. The gym is the only functioning room on the middle floor. There is no water available anywhere in the building, not in the spa or the gym. You have to go to the cafe to get your bottle filled up.

I am giving 2 stars because the complementary foot and leg massage (15 minutes), which I had to remind them about, was very nice. The treatment room is a thoroughfare and staff schlep through all the time, ruining the atmosphere. The magazine on my chair was dated 2015. It feels like this is the date the owner ran away with all the profits, leaving the staff to try and muddle through.

The bathrooms were horrid, with copious hair on the floor, one shower cubicle, and the whole cubicle partition thing was broken and leaning, so I could hardly shut and open the toilet door. The movie room had comfortable seating and beanbags, you could have a sleep here if there wasn't a movie playing. There did not seem to be any choice about movies.

The staff hung around reception and whispered. They did not look pleased if you approached to ask a question, book a treatment or to ask for a towel. It was really weird! We were glad to leave.

Thank you for highlighting the situation on the top floor i am not sure why our front end staff allowed you to go there as this is not part of the transit lounge. Only the Gym is availale to guests. The roof top lounge was closed permanently and we will ensure any signage to be removed that was overlooked. We have very happy and positive feedback from our clients , it is unfortunate that you did not enjoy your experience. We take on board the feedback which we value at all times.

Dont bother if you have children. Misleading website

Website tells a different story. Wouldn't recommend with children. Website advertises a kids club with a nanny etc. Staff confirmed no such thing exists. Theres one trampoline outside for there so called kids club. Room is just a movie theater. There is a case of a few toys for children but nothings mentioned at check in. Website misleads totally on this. Cafe is minimal. A few snack style options at massive prices. Staff varies to who you get. We had 2 lovely ladies and the driver is lovely. The lady on reception had a massive attitude who couldn't care less. For the price you pay, go elsewhere.
