Where do I start. We purchased our two bags of lollies $5fiji to throw to the village children. Stopped by at the kindergarten, that was lovely. Our tour guide was very friendly. We stopped in town had a look in the souvenir shop then taken to have lunch up stairs (it was my self and mu husband and tour guide... More

Upon arrival we were advised during the 45 minute ride we would be passing through three small villages. We were told we needed to buy lollies to throw to the kids expecting us to pass through. "No lollies, very disappointed and upset little kids". $5 per bag of very cheap lollies. Train was falling apart. My mother in law tripping... More

We had great time on the train! We stepped back in time & travelled like Indiana Jones through a jungle.... don't stick your head or hands out of windows or the shrubs or tree branches slap you on your faces! We have those lovely green smell of broken shrubs all along the journey. The station master encourages everyone to buy... More

We have two young children and they lived the train ride. The kids also loved visiting the kindergarten. Also loved visiting the village where they got to play with the children. All in all a very good day.

We had a lovely ride into the town of Sigatoka on board the rattly old red train, but it gave us a good view of life in Fiji either side of the tracks. Seeing the children in the Kindergarten was interesting and cute. When you get into town though, try to go your own way to look around as the... More

The train slowly travels from Cuvu to Sigatoka township. The station is near the Shangri-La Hotel. It slowly travels through communities where children wait for the train to receive lollies from the travellers. Bring your own lollies to share with the kids, if not they can be purchased cheaply from the station. The train travels through the sugar cane and... More

We were told & read that the train left at 10:30, so we arrived just after 10. to be told that the train left at 10 & we had miss it, but did we want to go on it. To cut a long story short, the station manger rang the train & asked them to stop & then took as... More

We took the full day trip from the main station on the coast in front of the Shangri La Hotel to Sigatoka town. While we enjoyed the scenery and found it interesting passing through villages there were also disappointments. When we boarded the old train we were pressed several times by staff to buy lollies from the station shop to... More

Our family group of 10 went on this today, children under 5 are free. Was a great trip, unfortunately near the end of our train ride a tree fell down over night and blocked the rail line, out of their control. They were very apologetic, but we understood this was out of their control. We walked out to the main... More
