There are lots of very touristy things you can do in Fiji, so the sugar cane train was a welcome change from that. The train travels along a very narrow gauge track along the coast, through thick vegetation and many tiny rural villages. We had...More

Our family, 2 adults & 2 kids did this one way railway journey to Sigatoka for $69FJ per adult, kids 1/2 price, under 5 free. TOTALLY WORTH THE PRICE!!!! The train and carriages are rustic (as is the track), so we had to stop on...More

We were excited about travelling on the railway but the day we travelled was very disappointing. The reason being was that they used a Diesel engine and all the diesel fumes kept coming into the carriages even with the door in-between closed. We had booked...More

It was really good just like travelling through the jungle, like Indiana Jones. The only problem was the train derailing and we had to pick up a bus but it was all fun An experience you cant get everywhere. Great

Charming little old train, was just us on the train. Just such a sense of adventure-felt like we were in the jungle, bits of tree coming inside the train, and even having to stop while the driver got off and removed bits of tree, vines...More

Unfortunately they have had lots of problems with trains derailing because the tracks were so bad so now it's permanently closed.

Hi, we stayed at the Shangri-la and did this trip. We were picked up by a mini-van that took us to the station which is right on the main road at the entrance to the Shangri-La.
