We travelled on the Coral Coast Railway after reading about it on Trip Advisor. We are glad we made the decision to make the journey. For us part of our travelling adventures is seeing the "REAL" lifestyles of the people. We travelled by rail through numerous villages, with smiling happy people always ready to shout out a Bula! The highlight... More

Brochure states you go through authentic Fijian villages. The train drives right past them. You get dumped off in Sigatoka where our guide sat in the air-conditioned shop and told us to come and see her when we were done shopping. Our guide offered us no information or 'guidance' about the trip/location/Fijian way of life etc. Only up side was... More

We tend to gravitate to train rides wherever we go so this was a must on our list. The only 'train' in Fiji we were picked up from our hotel in an old van and driven to the 'station'. Told to take bug spray and water we followed these instructions spending nearly $20. A barely standing building was in front... More

Took the tour thinking it is something my kids (7 & 4) would enjoy. The railway is near the entrance to the Shangri-las Fijian resort and was constructed in 1934. The train and station do not appear to have been updated since then. The interior of the train is very run down and I also had concerns about the metal... More

Broke down, again. We were then bussed to Sigatoka and dropped off. No explanation, no guide what to do. Poorly managed and run. Asked for a refund, which was refused by Rosie holidays.

My kids are pretty easily impressed but when they saw the train they said "what's that dad?!' It was one carriage and rather ramshackle. After being funnelled through the shop and asked to buy water we boarded the train. Patched up all around it wasn't until one if my boys opened the window and the window fell to pieces that... More

A must do for a cheap fun Fijian adventure. We boarded the very old rusty sugar cane train with our 6 year old train lover, who got to sit in with the driver and our 2 1/2 year old who both just loved the trip. We took the half day trip which was 10am from the outrigger until 2pm which... More

Firstly, if you're not slightly adventurous or can't handle 'roughing it' for a couple of hours, then give this little gem a miss. But for everyone else, it's a great trip! Our six year old loved it, especially standing up the front of the train and dodging the bush as the little train pushes its way through. The 18month old... More

I had such a wonderful trip on the train and met other Australians also on the trip. The preschool kindergarten was a joy seeing the children performing. Also the staff on the train could not do enough to help you. Gai Hhodgson Budd.
