This museum puts a face on the mostly unknown (in the west) history of one of Europe's most enigmatic nations. If you are able to, I recommend you visit this place on the first day of your visit: It will tie together much of what you will soon experience. This is a world class museum, so come prepared to purchase... More

This is only going to appeal to you if you like museums and artifacts etc. I found myself lost for hours. Interesting to look into the history of Albania and the Albanian way of thinking. You can clearly see the country has been divided into families for years but has one heart! I would have given this a 5 star... More

Beautiful Roman sculptures. Interesting displays of medieval weapons. Worth the low entrance fee. Highlights: Roman statuary, weaponry and artifact of Albania's traumatic history.

A museum like this is always a good start to reveal the country and learn of its identity. It's centrally located.

Tirana is not a tourist mecca. I found this museum a very nice way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon. I knew little of the history of Albania and the visit was quite informative. I read the Encylopaedia Britannica's history of Albania (on my computer) when I got back to my room and that put the exhibits... More

Built in the Old Russian style it has many exhibits. Being the National museum it holds much of the country's treasures. Gives a great perspective to first time visitors.

Really interesting museum. Huge and imposing stately edifice that towers over Skenderbeg Square, you get a great view of the square from inside. The front of the building is dominated by a huge, beautiful mosaic. Huge array of exhibits of Albanian culture and history and even though not all have English captions, it is still a very worthwhile place to... More

An excellent museum. Modern spacious and full of interesting exhibits documenting the history of Albania from ancient times to the present. The only draw back is that few exhibits have translations, although there are some in English, some in German and some in French, but the majority in Albanian only. No doubt as tourism develops in the country this will... More

This place can be considered museum only because of the name as there are very few historical artifacts present and they are very poorly exhibited. Do not waste your time paying a visit to this museum.
