Must visit modern art gallery/museum with very rich, though not not very large, but fascinating collection. Gives you the 'other' perspective of Sarajevo. Let's hope the new Renzo Piano building/renovation can be constructed soon...

Entry fee 4KM. Interesting space - but not very interesting exhibition of contemporary art from various Eastern European galleries.

When I was there I saw great potential of art, but the way how they create exhibition there is quite tipical, without special sense. Pieces of art are from different parts of central Europe, created by great artists. It was sad that nobody cares there about visitor and about those art as well. But, as I said, they have really... The museum is located in an area of Olympic center, building still unrestored building after the devastation suffered after the war. I'm not expert into contemporary modern art, but some of the exhibits are beautiful, exciting others exciting. Museum brings an air of modernity in this cultural center which is Sarajevo. Worth seeing.

Ars Aevi ha a nice collection of contempory pieces from all over Europe (I am no expert so I won't get in details) but the the way the place is handled it looks a bit amatuerish: I know they do have money problems but having a young 20something at the entrance chatting with friends instead of minding the visitors won't... The collection of Ars Aevi is one of the best in Europe and World probably. Its location is very near to the city centre and you should see without an excuse. It strated developing some 25 years ago and it represents an overview of finest contemporary art works of our era.

In absolute shock one of the feature-rich collection of contemporary art. A diamond ring in a poor, inadequate space for such a grandiose collection. Lovers of contemporary art in this city of antiquities and a good time, have to visit the Ars Aevi collection even visit Sarajevo because of this meeting with the relevant names of art of the twentieth... I don't know the history or where things stand with their plans for the future... but this contemporary art center has some surprisingly good works by some very reputable international artists like Anish Kapoor, Daniel Buren and Marina Abramovic. Worth a visit for sure.

The place is worth visiting if you are a contemporary art lover. The exhibition is quite small, still there are some really interesting installations.
