Essentially an enormous shopping centre, without shops. There is a huge supermarket (which is amazing and great quality food) but apart from that there's the Amber shop, some water place, one clothing shop and the rest is all shut. Boarded up.

This part of the downtown is also known as the Sofia Largo - an architectural entity made up of three monumental buildings - the National Assembly, the TZUM building and the Ministry building.
Largo is a classic example of so-called Stalinist architecture in Southeast Europe. This is also why this square often served as a doubler for Moscow in films shot in Bulgaria after the fall of communism.

Love the architecture in this part of town and TZUM which is a huge building outside Serdika Metro Station is one such building I really liked the look of.
I didn't know it was a shopping centre ,never ventured into that part of the building but I visited a couple of bars here ,really enjoyed the cocktail bar Largo Di Serdika, sat outside under the heaters enjoying beers ,a very cool bar indeed, the building TZUM is housed in looks magnificent especially when illuminated at night, the Neo Classical style of architecture is so pleasing on the eye .
Easy to locate along Bulevard Maria Luisa, most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area.

A place built for the communist apparatchik in the surrounding government offices. Now no shops, a few offices and some restaurants. Hard to enter in a wheelchair.

Tzum or Central Shopping Mall is impressive and to judge by old photos on display inside was a Department store previously. It’s elegant but a good few vacant shop and not really much in it certainly not a shopping experience.

It looks like a shopping centre with restaurants and coffee shops, but it is quite empty. Very nice decoration, but only very few shops are open.
