A magnificent building on the outside with a wondrous interior. The height of the dome inside with the frescos is unbelievable. The alter is a work of art in itself. Although we did not hear music the day we attended , the acoustics are supposed...More

VISIT at all cost, without any doubt! The St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (Bulgarian: Hram-pametnik „Sveti Aleksandar Nevski“) is a Bulgarian Orthodox cathedral in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria.

This is slap bang right in the middle of the road. For some people, the most important thing is to kiss/touch lots of icons. For me, it's to appreciate architecture and majesty - this has both. Beware the camera police - easily avoided with a...More

The biggest cathedral in Bulgaria built in honour of Russian soldiers fallen in Russian-Ottoman war while liberating Bulgaria. Great monument outside, not very pompous inside. Also you have to pay 10 BGN for taking pictures indoor.

One of the most beautiful churches I have seen, inside and out. Iconic in Sofia for good reason. Check it out!

We were really lucky to have the chance to film from the Bell Tower of Alexander Nevski. I have no idea if this tour is optional for tourists but it's worth it to ask. The Bells are huge and respectful. The place is very special.

A impressive church that is easily reached from the town center. Free admission and incredible artwork both inside and outside the church. Well worth a look.

Old cathedral that reeks history. Easy to access and a pleasure to visit. It also makes a pleasant respite from the summer heat.

I didn't see any access where that would be allowed. It was a pretty quiet day though. I couldn't swear that it wasn't available at some other time.
