Impressive. Very old and ancient. Active and you can observe locals going about their prayers. Free to enter but you need to pay to take photographs. Small religious souvenir shop at the back. The detail is quite something as is the structure. Just be mindful as there were a few beggars around in the day. At night, it became a bit more shady and isolated. Although it is very centrally located, better to go during the day. Information is all in Bulgarian so it was difficult to learn or understand what I was looking at. Suggest reading up prior to going or take a guide. Dress respectfully.

Probably the best church to visit among the ones in central Sofia. Very nice paintings and icons. Lots of gold and glitter and possible to buy a photo permission for 5 lev. A recommended visit!

The church is completely covered with wall paintings. I came in on Sunday morning and it was full of worshipers.

This centrally located church is just plain lovely.
Of all the churches in the city, this is probably the best looking one.
The church's interior is beautifully decorated with a very distinct gold color.
The chandelier and the paintings on the wall are equally impressive.

The St. Nedelia (Holy Sunday) Cathedral is one of the most visited tourist sites in Sofia and is located in the heart of the city, popular with weddings.

While entering I had a feeling of peace. As for photos taken inside the cathedral, well there is a fee of 5 Leva (€2.50).

The church was built in the place where ancient Serdica’s central square once was.

The church is domed in a central plan style, with Neo-Byzantine construction characteristics. The 11-bell tower, the gilded and wood-carved iconostasis with two tiers of icons, and the richly decorated walls evoke owe and admiration. The relics of saints and bishops bring here thousands of believers to worship.

Most impressive are the wood-carved iconostasis and the icons, painted by Nikola Dospevski in the traditions of the Samokov School of Woodcarving.

It is located opposite Sheraton Hotel.

I say unforgettable since we stayed at the Sheraton which is located just in front of the church. The church is located on one of the edges of Vitosha boulevard on the crossing with Stambolivski Boulvard. It is small compared to the Nevski Cathedral but equally as impressive.

This Cathedral at the center of Sophie is worth a brief drop in but that's about it. It is pretty inside but won't take much time.

This Miedeval church was destroyed multiple times and subsequently rebuilt, with rich history. It's small, but beautiful inside.
