    Gorgeous monument with steps
Brilliant monument and my favourite area in the city. It’s so peaceful and wonderfully kept and if you persevere up the steps to the top the views are great over the lake below. There’s so many statues surrounding and while it could benefit from some more benches in the area it’s relaxing enough. There’s not really any facilities in the area but that maintains the peacefulness and it’s a must see when in the city.

The main highlight of the city
Be prepared for a good walk around the lake. It is beautiful green space in the middle of Chișinău, capital of Moldova. Many stairs, fountains, statues, chess for chess lovers and a big seating capacity. It is also possible to swim or kayak when the weather permits. Never miss.

This park is a must do! My hostel was just 15 minutes away from it on foot. I was walking there and saw the singer of Sun Stroke Project, how cool is that? You will find many people fishing and doing sports in the lake. Walk a little more and you will find a Lenin and Karl Marx monument. Make sure to see the stairs and fountain for beautiful pictures.

There are some things that initially sound wrong but just work out beautifully - like Baked Alaska, eating snails or Chișinău beach. For a landlocked country with it capital centrally located a day at the beach is the last thing you'd think you'd hear.

Even in March on a sunny day Valea Morilor Park was a joy. Steps sweep down from the University to the lake that has reed beds either side. A purpose built running and cycling track keeps walkers away from those moving a little faster - all surrounded by mature trees. An ornamental fountain takes advantage of a slope on one side, on the other is a sandy beach that has changing stalls and a pier. Try to find all of the sculptures around the lake including the one a few inches tall. Rowers and fishermen complete the scene - wonderful.

Lovely to be in a city with so many parks. This one has a lovely relaxed atmosphere, is well away from any traffic noise and was a great place to relax.

Happily, we found Valea Morilor which easily eliminates any city centre noise. It is quiet and serene, offering great photograph opportunities and the park itself is well maintained and the flight of steps leading up and down are in good condition. Can imagine it to be a lot busier during the summer months.

I was staying in central Chisinau so went for a short run to and around the lake. It was a loively sunny day, there are some coffee outlets, a beach and gernally it seemed nice as I ran around.

Nice small lake and park for walking, jogging, cycling (bike rental available). Also the stylish white staircase up to the city is a beautiful one.

Definitely the best place in town for a good morning run. It is recently renovated, so you might see a lot of people here during the day. However, if you are a morning person, and like enjoying some time for yourself while watching the sunrise, don't hesitate to go to Valea Morilor.
